Placehelp.com And Betaip.Com (Billing Thieves) Don't know who they are but they are nickel and diming me Internet
I opened my bank statement and found nine (9) debits from Placehelp. com and Betaip.com (they are the same thieves) for very odd amounts; 39.97,1.00,1.00,39.97,1.00,1.00,1.20,0.03,0.03 from 07-29-08 to 08-04-08.
I called the phone numbers shown on the statement 866-581-8155 and 866-581-8586 and they just rang and rang.
Looked them up on the internet and found a front page (identical for both scam operations) and a "Live Chat" clickthru.
Some thief going by the name of "Kate" came on and I asked who and what these clowns were doing debting my account?
"Kate" came back 10 minutes later informing me that the debits were for a porn site that had been ordered online on 07-29-08 and cancelled online on 07-29-08.
I asked for the isp that the inital application originated from and I got "?' as a reply.I said that I never authorized this and have no idea who they were.
But, I asked "Kate" that if this was a charge and cancelleation on the same day, why then were there six (6) additional charges six days later?
"Kate" told me that her 'screen' did not show any additional charges and that I should contact my bank.
Told "her" that all the information I needed had already been supplied to me by my bank and you thieves have been tapping my account.
I asked for a physical address and was told that all they had was the website.
These thieves grabbed 85.20 total from my account.
Petty little people BUT if you figure their little smash and grabs times thousands of folks, they are making some serious money here.
