Planet Aid is a clothing recycling company that is nationwide. They claim to be a non-profit company although thay are on many charity watchlists for giving the bare minimum. They originated in Europe, but moved to the US after losing their non-profit status overseas. They are now headquartered out of MD and have locations across the country. There are many articles on the internet talking about their founder being wanted by interpol and how the company is a cultlike organization. I always took that with a grain of salt, but I can tell you the truth about the New England chapter of Planet Aid and their head of operations, Jackson Fernandez. Planet Aid claims to be a charity and environmentally conscious, a company that is suposedly doing good, but they are a huge lie.

Planet Aid's site finders, led by Jackson Fernandez will aproach your business asking for permission to place their clothing container on your property. They tell you it's for charity and that they are helping the poor in Africa and the environment They even offer to pay you for the clothing collected on your site if you allow them to place the bin.

They promise to keep the area clean and trash free and to empty the bins whenever you call. Basically, they'll say whatever it takes to get you to sign up with them and then they do whatever they feel like. They empty the bins when it's convenient for them. They leave a mess around the bins. You may get a couple checks in the beginning, but then they die off.

When you finally have had enough and call to have them remove their bin, they do not answer the phone. If you threaten to remove the bin yourself or to switch to another company, they send Jackson Fernandez out to try to bully you into keeping their bin. They will tell you you're in a legal contract and that they can sue you for early termination, even though they haven't held up to their promises.

If you allow another company to place their collection bin on your properry, Planet Aid actually steals the other company's container and leave you to deal with the police and the other company looking to find out what happened. If you can somehow get the Planet Aid bin off your property, and succesfully switch to a more trustworthy company, Planet Aid will send their vans to put trash in front of the competitor's bin on your property. How is that Charitible?

How is that good for the environment, they are dumping trash, actually littering, doing the exact opposite of what their supposed mission is. How are they a non-profit? They are obviously making a ton of money or they would not be bullying their competitors or the small businesses that were nice enough to allow them to put their bins here in the first place.

They are stealing property from other companies if they dare collect clothing at the same location. Just because I gave Planet Aid permission to put a bin on my property, doesn't give them the right to remove someone else's bin. I gave them permission too. Who do these guys think they are?  They act like the Mafia.

Maybe those internet articles about the cult and Planet Aid being involved in organized crime are true? Jackson Fernandez is an ex-marine who must think he's still on the battle field. A wanna to be tough guy, a small man with a Napoleon complex who is training his employees to Lie, Cheat and Steal. This guy should be fired. Jackson will tell you that Planet Aid is the biggest clothing recycling company in the industry and brag about how when he started there were 50 companys recycling clothing, and how he has single handedly put 25 of them out of business. I

don't want to do business with someone like that. I don't want a Planet Aid bin at my business now that I know what they stand for. And I think the public deserves to know the truth about these scumbags. Planet Aid and Jackson Fernandez have no interest in helping anyone but themselves. It is a shame if they are the industry leaders. They take something like recycling and clothing the poor that in theory are noble causes and destroy all the good through their shady business practices and public deception. Shame on Planet Aid. Beware.
