Planet Fitness Fraudulent Collection Practices - Refuses to Cancel Membership Atlanta Georgia

I signed up for services with Planet Fitness in May of 2014 in anticipation of relocating to Atlanta. I never moved to the area, and requested a cancellation. My membership ID became inactive on Planet Fitness' website shortly thereafter and when I called to confirm my membership was cancelled it was confirmed both at my intended home site in Atlanta and at another Planet Fitness location on the West Coast. Six months later, I started receiving emails stating my payment did not go through. Upon calling to determine why I had been billed at all the manager stated he had no evidence I intended to cancel so he reactivated the account and resumed billing. Even though the membership is only $10 per month, he found a way to double the amount owed. I have advised the manager I will not pay for the membership. Planet Fitness does not offer contracts and I never set foot inside the gym to finalize the agreement. I have filed a report against PF with the BBB and plan to join a class action suit against the club.
