We joined this new gym because it's very near our home and very convenient. It does not have the amenities we desire, but it's cheap and we thought it was low key and we could work out without any interference. Boy were we wrong!!

I wear typical work-out attire I purchased from my former gym (prior to moving to this area) and quietly go about my routine. In five visits, I have been harrassed by staff on three occassions for wearing attire that "invites unwanted attention"! First, because the straps on my top were too thin. (Seriously?? It's a yoga top!) And second, because my clothes were form-fitting (and safer around machines). I looked around to see many other women wearing similar clothes, but because they were not fit, it looked frumpy on them. Or, I guess it's ok to be fat at this gym, but being fit is cause for negative attention. What is the real message here??

I also use a gym bag to carry my water, towel, gloves, iPod, and a sweatshirt. Also a big no-no. Honestly, this place is about as militant as it gets. There is no working out in comfort and no way to de-stress when they are following you around and chastising every little thing you do. They are rude and they just do not care how sexist, discriminating or offensive they and their employees are. You, the customer, are always wrong!!

Everything that is typical at another gym is taboo at Planet Fitness. They might as well rename the place Planet Fat. Unless you look and act that way, you won't be welcome there.

Spend the $ and join a classier, more conventional gym.
