Planet Fitness is a complete waste of time. First off, this gym only accepts checking account info. Yes you read it right! Planet Fitness doesn't accept credit card or cash payments. This policy is ridiculous.  Do you really want to give sensitive information like this to a gym? Hell no! So I decided to cancel my gym membership within the 3 day grace period. At that time, the very young receptionist had me fill out a cancellation form and told me the request would be processed.

Around the 17th of the month, I noticed Planet Fitness charged my bank account $10 even though I cancelled my membership weeks before. A day later, I visited Planet Fitness and spoke to the manager. She stated my paperwork wasn't processed and couldn't explain why. She made a copy of my cancellation paper and said I should expect a refund check in the mail within a week. After a week, I  still didn't receive any refund check from Planet Fitness. Whenever I called or visited the gym, the manager was unavailable.  I also tried to call the corporate telephone number from their website and no one answers. Planet Fitness was basically playing me.

This unprofessional company make it so easy to sign up for membership but almost impossible to cancel. I ended up filing a complaint with both the Better Business Bureau and the Department of Consumer Affairs. After Planet Fitness was notified of my complaints, they finally refunded me back my money.  This was more than a month later! I am warning everyone to avoid this gym at all cost. Don't give them your checking account information. You will regret it. Planet Fitness is nothing but a scam and their gym is worth less than the $10 membership. Try zero!
