Complaint Review: Platinum Family Fitness

Platinum Family Fitness.. This gym will rip you off!!! DO NOT trust them with anything! I was an employee at Platinum Family Fitness in Courtice, and they also own the one in Whitby, and watched them scam people left and right. While I was making calls to get people into the gym for tours and memberships, I had some people tell me that they will never join the gym because they have lawsuits against them already and to never call them again. At first I thought it was just me, and then I started getting more and more people telling me that over the phone.

I started getting suspicious of the manager. When it came time to get my first pay, they said they didnt have it but whatever I made will be on the next paycheck. Well, that paycheck never came and it was the same story every 2 weeks for 2 and a half months. Finally, I complained enough and got my check. I was supposed to have made 10 an hour plus comission to start, you can do the math and figure out how much they would have owed me for 15 hours/week for 2.5 months.

After I got hired, a few weeks later when I didnt get paid I asked them why i hadnt at least got the hourly pay, and they said they dont give hourly pay to part timers, or anyone within the first 3 months. So I waited to get the money from the sales. I started the second week of October and didnt get paid until December 31, guess how much I got.... $17.00!!!!! All of the members there think they are getting a great deal, but they keep taking money out of the account after your year is up.

If anyone wants a membership at a gym do not go to any of the facilities that JAY ARTEGA manages. He is a lying, manipulative and scheeming person. He tried to tell me the first time I didnt get paid, (which I was livid about because I could not pay my rent without the money) that I shouldn't be thinking about not having enough to pay rent this month, but being able to make more than someone at mcdonalds makes over a period of 6 months... He was trying to sell me my job that I already had in order to keep me there to work for him for free... THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!! DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!!!!!!
