We were also stupid enough to buy a warranty with this fly-by-night company, they wouldn't cover any repairs, so we sold our truck. Now, we have waited since 4/1/2004 to get our prorated refund for the time left on our contract. The company said it will take 30 45 working days to process the check. So far, they never returned any calls, or sent us any refund. I am so sorry we did any business with this company.

I'll bet the CEO Anthony J. Hodel who hob nobs with GW Bush, is rolling in the dough, while we are duped by his company. Good things happen to bad people!

But no, the situation is not the same, I wish it was. They said they have had my paperwork since April 2, 2004. They have the run around all sewn up, first they tell you someone will call back, never happens, then they say accounting is backed up, then accounting needs an e-mail, and so on...

Her is an article about this company;

State sues auto warranty company
Thursday, May 13, 2004
Kaye Spector
Plain Dealer Reporter
Michael Arcidiacono racked up $1,500 in unreimbursed repairs to his used pickup truck before he finally took his warranty company to small claims court.

Then the truck's engine blew up and Arcidiacono was another $6,500 in the hole.

In all, the Willowick resident received just $50 from the warranty company, Platinum Warranty Corp., of Cleveland for repairs to his newly purchased truck.

The state attorney general's office sued Platinum Warranty on Wednesday, alleging the company did not honor the automotive repair warranties it sold.

Arcidiacono is among consumers in Ohio and other states who have filed more than 140 complaints with the Ohio attorney general's office against the company, Attorney General Jim Petro's office said.

Anthony J. Hodel, chief executive officer of Platinum Warranty, could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

Arcidiacono purchased his warranty for $1,200 from the car dealership where he bought his 1999 Chevy Silverado in March 2003.

But when his truck needed repairs, including transmission and electrical work, Platinum took weeks to deny his claims, Arcidiacono said. The company said he did not maintain his truck properly, he said.

Arcidiacono represented himself in small claims court and lost. The company turned down his request for a refund, he said.

Arcidiacono's truck is running, but his credit cards are maxed out with repair bills. And he has hired a lawyer.

"At this point, I'd be happy if I got anything from them," Arcidiacono said. "It's put a financial strain on me, that's for sure."

The Better Business Bureau has processed 336 complaints in the last three years against Platinum; the bulk of those - 277 - were in the last year, a bureau report says.

The company has resolved most of the complaints presented by the bureau, the report says.

The company says it has undergone difficult financial times in the last eight months and is implementing a restructuring plan to pay contract holders for past claims, the report says.

The attorney general's suit seeks to prevent Platinum from committing further violations, give consumers restitution and levy civil penalties of $25,000 per violation.

Not going to get into the politics. Had a similar problem with a car warranty. Bought a new truck and an extended warranty. 2 years later sold the truck, went back to the dealer, filled out the paperwork and waited. Month goes by nothing. Call the warranty company and the dealer still hadn't submitted the paperwork. Had to call the dealer and tell him to get off his a*s. Got the refund shortly thereafter. Don't know if this is the case but you might check into it.

Change Comparison to Reference

#10Consumer Suggestion

Wed, July 21, 2004

If a person has a valid complaint about a company's product by all means a person has to right to register a complaint. But to bring in the President has no bearing her reference is a political statement even if its posted on their website. In Alice's second and third post her response is political "there are other sites for that" If Alice is upset she does not run in the same circle as Mr. Hodel that has nothing to do with her complaint.

Her complaint is Platinum Warranty has not refunded her money. A better way to make her statement "Hodel's a crook gets richer by not refunding my money" again to make reference to the President is like saying Al "the father of the internet" Gore invented extended service contacts Maybe Alice can provide proof the President is benefiting from Platinum Warranty for not refunding her money. All are not well thought through statements.

BTW Alice your statement about stalking its ignorant but its funny to.

BTW Michelle Bush did win five independent newspapers verified the count. I may have missed it but where in Alice's initial post does she make reference to the company's website? I may be a moron "so let's change the word comparison to reference".

No Comparison...They brought politics into this

#10Consumer Suggestion

Tue, July 20, 2004

In the first message there was no comparison to BUsh, just a mention about an association with Bush that you can read on the companies home page. They brought politics into this and Alice just commented on that fact.

If you have a problem then it is with the company who put a partisan message on their own home page. I know that as a Florida resident you feel some sort of defensive position towards the President, well get over it ok? I mean you got him elected and he never won in the first place, what more do you want? No need to attack others for commenting about a companies web page.

In case you did not read the above simply put..

THERE WAS NO COMPARISON OF THE COMPANY TO BUSH!

NONE WERE MADE IN THE LEAD POST ONLY A MORON WOULD SEE A COMPARISON WHEN THERE IS NONE

Steve go away please! Your assistance is not needed here

#10Consumer Suggestion

Tue, July 20, 2004

Your assistance is not needed here, I am not here to talk politics either. The fact that the CEO of the company that ripped me off is a friend, and staunch supporter the the current administration was briefly mentioned in my opening blurb, no comparison was made except by you, get over it!!!

My original statement;

***I'll bet the CEO Anthony J. Hodel who hob nobs with GW Bush, is rolling in the dough, while we are duped by his company. Good things happen to bad people!***

This is taken from the company web site:

9-15-2002 Hodel given National Republican's Congressional Committee National Leadership Award.

7-19-2002 Dinner at the White House with Hodel and President Bush.

For your information Steve, the dig was at Anthony J. Hodel, not GW, now quit being so ignorant please! Leave me alone, and quit stalking me!

*********************************************
For anyone else who may happen to be reading this, please do not do business with this company! If you do not like doing business with a company who doesn't deliver, or doesn't fulfill their end of the bargain they make with you in a contract, then stay away from them.

I would like to hear from anyone who does have a good experience with an auto warranty company, or a recommendation for future reference.

Thank you!

I am interested in offer assistance to those who have a valid complaint however I am not interested in reading about your political views on this site "here is a start up site I found www.politicaltalkers.com". The comparison you made in your initial post is without merit and pure opinion alot of people donate to both parties. If you re-read your initial post you may understand what I was trying to convey... by the way I'm sure if you continue to educate yourself you may notice Kerry's wife "Heinz" hob nobs with the wealthy. Good things do happen to bad people and sometime the ignorant too.

Your comment ..you are the arrogant, and ignorant one, I never compared the two

#10Consumer Suggestion

Sun, July 18, 2004

Steve,

First off, you are the arrogant, and ignorant one, I never compared the two in the first place! I have already filed complaints to both the Attorney. General of Ohio, and the Insurance regulations of Ohio, It seems that this company is already under a law suit by the Attorney, General. So your comments and, or suggestions are not needed, thanks, but no thanks!

By the way, I will vote for Kerry, I am tired of bush killing our young people, among other things! Oh, and if you read and educate yourself, you will find that the CEO of this company is a staunch supporter of GW Bush, so my comments are based on facts, not ignorance.

I am sure Ohio has a Insurance/Automotive division that handles complaints then acts on the complaint I would recommend you contact them if you are having no luck getting a response. By the way your comparison to GW Bush is borderline ignorant.
