I have a large file with documents, coupons and certficates, all promissing to refund my purchase price in 28 years (2016).  For the last several years I have been trying without luck to get information from Prisma and every lawyer, plan adminstrator, trustee and actuary whose name at any time was associated with Plaza Holday Club without success, having been ignored by all.  This was a total scam and everyone who was ever involved in the US is apparently running for cover.  I now seriously doubt that anyone ever actually purchased the so called annuity that was supposed to refund our purchase price.  Thankfully I stopped paying maintenance fees years ago when the Club was eventually evicted from the Playa Suites, so I didn't lose too much having actually used the unit for some 13 years.

Timeshare Scam

The best advice is NEVER buying a timeshare anywhere. It is a scam and the so-called timeshare you buy is sold over and over again to other people. It is very difficult to sell your timeshare now and renting isn't in the deal. It will cost you more to buy a timeshare and maintenance fee than to rent a hotel room or a full ownership of a condo. Don't do it. There is good information about timeshare scams: http://www.timesharescam.com/blog/68-timeshare-scams-mexico-vs-us-why-are-there-more-situations-of-fraud-in-mexico/
