Do not buy any puppies from Lynda White!!! It will be the worst mistake you ever made!!

On Friday, March 21, 2008, my sister called Lynda for me to ask about her puppies and references (which checked out by the way). My sister and I had drove to Alabama the night before to look at other puppies. Lynda basically dogged my sister because we "went over state lines and the bar is set so high for Georgia breeders". Little did we know.....

My sister and I drove to 2 1/2 hours away to Molena to see Lynda's puppies. She had two available. Both were males, which is what I wanted. I fell in love with the one I picked. I signed the contract after reading it carefully. Then we were on our way with my new puppy, Gus.

On Saturday, March 22, 2008, I took Gus to the vet my family has used for years. Upon physical exam, the vet concluded that Gus has a systolic heart murmur, and he will die. The vet cannot tell me if he will die in 2 months or 2 years. He's not sure at this point. However, he did recommend that I return Gus to Lynda. He also wrote a letter that I could take to her.

I called Lynda from the vet's office. She said well, just call me when you leave there. As I was walking out the door, tears rolling down my face, I called her back. Lynda proceeded to tell me that her contract states this and that, no refunds, blah, blah, as if I didn't already know. She said that the only thing she could do was give me the other puppy. I didn't want the other puppy at that time because my heart was set on Gus. I didn't have a hard time choosing between the two at all. She then proceeded to tell me that I couldn't take him back until Monday, March 24, 2008, due to Easter outings. She said we would discuss it then.

I read her contract over again when I got home. It specifies in the first line that the seller (Lynda) guarantees that the puppy is in good health at the date of purchase and delivery and has a one year guarantee for genetic defects. The second line states that if a puppy is returned with a letter from the vet stating a health problem the seller (Lynda) will exchange the puppy with another at the same value. The third line states that the puppy is free from any hereditary defects to the best of her knowledge.

On Monday, March 24, 2008, my sister and I drove another 2 1/2 hours to Molena to return Gus. I had fallen in love with this puppy, and my heart was so broken. Lynda wanted us to meet her at the local grocery store about 10 minutes from her house. She said she would be tied up until a certain time, and if she couldn't make it, she would send her husband. That sounded a little strange to us, and my sister decided that we would go to her house instead.

When we arrived, we were welcomed in the house by Lynda. She took Gus from my sister, and she asked for the letter from my vet. I handed it to her. She then said she would take Gus to her vet the next day and contact me then. I wasn't going to leave there empty handed. I wanted my money or another puppy. She continued to repeat that she had to take him to the vet before she could do anything. I asked her about the first line in her contract guaranteeing that the puppy is in good health on the date of sell. She said "Well to the best of my knowledge." That's not what her contract states. My sister then asked if she takes the puppies to the vet before selling them. She said "No, nobody does." How can she guarantee the puppies are in good health on the date of sell if she never has them vet checked? I asked her about the other puppy. Lynda's response was "well, he's on down the road because I sold him right before you got here". How convenient!! I obviously wasn't getting my money back either. My sister and I were accused of being crooks and liars. Lynda's husband said we made my vet make up the letter. Ok...I guess my vet would be willing to lose his license.

I didn't trust Lynda to take Gus to the vet. I just had this feeling that I would never hear from her again. I couldn't leave Gus with this woman, and my sister asked for him back. Lynda basically tossed Gus to my sister. Lynda and her husband repeatedly yelled, calling us crooks and liars. We were thrown out of her house. Lynda told my sister as we were walking down the drive way that she was going to give the money back after she took Gus to the vet. Yeah...I would have been out a dog and my money.

About thirty minutes down the road, Lynda called my cell phone. My sister answered because I wasn't in the car. She said some very rude things to her. For example, Lynda said "I know what your problem is...you are just PMSing." HA! Not something to tell a woman when she is already...mad. My sister then reminded her of the conversation on Friday regarding the "bar that is set so high". My sister told Lynda that her bar was crap. One of the references had been sold a puppy with a hernia. I guess Lynda didn't know that either. How can you breed dogs and not know that something isn't right? Lynda said "Well, my contract says I will give another puppy even if it has to come from a future litter". Nope, the contract doesn't say that either. My phone lost service, and I haven't heard from her yet.

My sister took Gus to the vet again on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, to be checked by another vet in the same office. He gave the same diagnosis. He also said that Gus' parents shouldn't be bred together because of this problem.

My mother found a rip off report on Tuesday, March 24th, about Lynda written by a lady in Oregon. I decided to put my story on here as well.

Please again do not buy any puppies from Lynda. She is not trustworthy. You don't want to end up with a sick puppy like Gus. She doesn't stand behind her contract. It's all a bunch of garbage so that she can get your money.

If you are a breeder, make sure you stand behind your contract. If you are a buyer, make sure the breeder has taken the puppy to the vet and that there are vet records available.

My final rebuttal - The End to the Story

#3Author of original report

Wed, August 13, 2008

Dear Rip Off Readers and Lynda White,

I had to share with you the final chapter about Gus. As stated in my report earlier our family vet diagnosed Gus with a systolic heart murmur with the prognosis resulting in death. Even with this stated our family decided we would see this through and love Gus and give him the best home we could. He brought all of us so much joy and love, touching hearts from an eleven year old little girl to our eighty two year old grandmother who historically had not been an animal lover. Gus was going to capture your heart the moment you met him. He was our special guest to all our family events including our family vacation to Panama City Beach, Florida. But, tragically, as diagnosed by Dr. Daniel, Gus became very sick, very quick and on August 8, 2008 at a VERY young age of 6 months and 29 days old Gus had to be put down. His little heart just couldn't pump the fluid off, he was so weak and lethargic, even his precious little eyes screamed help me. But very much to our regret there was absolutely nothing we could do for him. I write this today as not only a plea for others to please take the extra mile to investigate your breeder to make sure the animals are vet checked with records, but to share with you our story of how blessed we feel to have had the short months and days with Gus. He was certainly a very special family member and will never be forgotten.

Today I Loved You
Most of All

We knew it from the start.
And now we sit together,
me with a heavy heart.
I know that it is time,
to release you from your pain.
There's nothing left to do,
nothing left to gain.
As I look into your eyes,
I feel the pain I see
I know you have been holding on,
just because of me.
You are my best friend,
and I don't want you to go
but loving you as I do,
I can't let you suffer so.
So as I hold you here,
I just wanted you to know
Today I loved you most of all,
Today I let you go.

In loving memory of our Gus

We love you!

Anna states in her claim that I OFFERED her another puppy, she refused. Anna also states that I would give her a REFUND as proof by her own admission that I do honor my contract. Can you beleive Anna would say someone gave me a bad reference. Would she have come and purchased a puppy? Anna is lying about name calling when she came to my home, she and her sister walked through my door demanding a refund and began cursing. I told them to leave which is nicer than what most people would have done.

The reason that I wanted to take the puppy to the vet was to verify that the condition was correct and not do to hypoglycemia (which is a drop in blood sugar and can temporary affect body organs).

Anna called me the same day that she purchased the puppy and wanted to bring the puppy back that day, She stated that she could not handle this and just wanted to return the puppy. This was before she took the puppy to the vet and this was the reason I was a little concerned about the vet check she got the next day and required my own before giving her a refund at the time she only had 1 vet check.

Based on Anna's own words in the report Anna did not want another puppy and did not want to give the puppy back for a refund.
