I bought a pair of in ear ear buds for motorcycling from Plugup.com they were touted as being very good so I ponied up the $171 for the headphones.  They marginally worked for 1.5 days of my motorcycle trip then one ear stopped working. 

I called the owner from north Georgia where I was on my trip and alerted her of the problem. We played phone tag and eventually I got to talk personally with her.  She says mail them back and we will fix them or replace them. 


I mail them to her and then she tells me -- I BROKE THEM...   I am a professional, who is meticulous and very tech savvy, I did not damage the headphones.  She gets very belligerent and tells me it will cost $50 to fix them.   I ask her to just replace them - she refuses.  

I then asked her to mail the broken ones back to me - so I could use them in small claims court.  She agrees BUT never returns them to me.  

My advice is BUYER go somewhere else and save your money and aggravation.

I am a long-time associate of Marilyn's. I own my own business and work with her on a regular basis. I have to believe that she was being realistic about the condition of your earphones as I sell and work with them myself. The conditions under which helmet headphones get used are not easy. If you put your helmet on and off with vigor and are not careful, it is very possible to damage the plugs inadvertently. I can easily see this happening. The warranty on the product is against defects in the product and not damage caused by usage. Unfortunately your damage seems to have occurred quickly. I would recommend that you try to reconcile this with Marilyn as I can tell you from experience that you will not get the quality of product or service she provides from ANY OTHER vendor in this industry. I've worked with other earplug/earphone companies and she's the best. If you would like to have me help you, I would be more than willing to. Please contact me at lisa@divenrideadventures.com.
