Complaint Review: Plumbing 911

 On 7/5/2017, I discovered a water leak under my house. My brother investigated the next day and found that there was water driping from the insulation and the plywood flooring was wet. On 7/6/2017, I called Plumbing 911 and talked to Belinda. She said as soon as she had a truck free she'd send them out. Service was fast. Joe, the plumber, arrived in about an hour from my first call. He did a quick inspection to all the plumbing fixtures IN the house. I had already determined there was no leak from inside. It had to be somewhere UNDER THE HOUSE. Before he even got started, he immediately went into a recommendation that ALL my plumbing needed to be replaced. I said that wasn't an option. Mind you, he had not even located a leak yet. He went out to his truck to get a light and prepare to go under the house. Before he could do so, I stopped him and asked/told him that if he wasn't interested in repairing the leak, I would pay him him service charge of $39. and call someone who WAS interested in doing the repair. My brother went under the house with him. He was out rather quickly, less than 10 minutes, and told me the leak was coming from the ice maker. He then prepared a preliminary estimate of $520.00. Total max of time spent- less than 2 hours. I wrote him a check and he told me he had to use a different type of plumbing supply than what is there due to code. I informed him there is NO code in the county. True. THEN he said it was "the universal plumbing code". I've had plumbers out before and neither had no problem repairing what was needed with the same type of material. I feel that it was a definite rip off as part of the charge was a $120.00 diagnostic fee. This took less than 10 minutes to find. PLUS NO WARRANTY on his work. I can assure you Plumbing 911 is the last company I'll call again. I feel he deliberately took advantage because he was dealing with a woman and I had the nerve to challenge him and his tactics.
