On May 3rd, 2005, I received a friendly outgoing individual by the name of Josh Miller at my door. He said that he was trying to earn points to get in to the Radio Business by selling magazines. He even pointed to my neighbors two doors down and said that they had bought from him.

So I allowed him to give me his pitch and eventually thought ok I will help this kid out. I ordered two magaizines each costing me 40.00 and then a processing fee of 10.00. He told me that it would take 90-120 days for my first issue to arrive.
October came and I did not have any magazines neither did my 4 yr old son who I ordered for also. I called the company and they apologized and made sure they had the correct address.

I called on November 4th and talked with Sharita, she gave me the same answer. She said that she would check in to it and get back with me. I didn't hear from her. On January 3rd,2006 I again called and contacted Sharita and told her that I wanted to speak with the manager. She put Courtney on the phone and she said that she could not give me a refund unless they had a copy of my order form, and the cashed check. So I faxed it to her the next day at this number 972-767-3028. I have not heard anything back and after reading other reports I probably won't.
I then called on Feb. 20th only to have the number be invalid. I tried the fax number on the 21st and I was able to leave a message but know now it won't be answered.

I am so disappointed in myself for allowing this young man to convince me I was doing him good by buying these magazines.
No wonder we have such jaded people in this world, they have been screwed too many times. I feel like my kindness has been taken advantage of. What is this company teaching these young individuals that it is the American way to screw people over to get what you want. No wonder why our society is so selfish.

Margaret, you are not alone...the nearly 500 folks who have reported this companies practices represents a very small fraction of people who have been victimized in the same way...you not only paid more for periodicals you may never see-and I have written about this many times-these kids work for unscrupulous mgrs who pay nothing for the subscriptions that do clear. Not only are you being victimized, but the young man at the door is too.He will travel, lie to eat,be yelled at, and likely beaten if he does not produce. When they are done with him,he will probably have to rely on family to find his way home. Then he will be stuck with an IRS obligation he cannot pay.I cannot stipulate strongly enough, that you did nothing wrong,I only wanted you to have a little more perspective.Sadly, these young people will even defend this business in these forums.I urge you to contact your attorney general,be persistent and in the future-remember these crews almost always require a permit to work your area.If they cannot produce document on your doorstep...call the police right away.
