PN Financial Inc John Powers & Sullivan Stated that I was being sued. Skokie , Illinois
I received a phone call from my brother indicated that John Sullivan, from John Powers & Sullivan, had contacted him looking for my ex-husband. My brother advised that he did not live there and he was his ex-brother-in-law. Mr. Sullivan asked my brother to contact me as I was responsible for my ex-husband's debt.I contacted their number and was advised that I was being sued by two creditors. He stated that he would put an "administrative hold" on the lawsuit for 48 hours so I could gather some information and I could call him back.
I had received 3 letters, from PN Financial Inc, the previous week addressed to my ex-husband but I returned them. My ex-mother-in-law stated that she had also received a phone call a few weeks ago and was advised that she was responsible for her son's debt.
After doing some research on line, it sounds as this is the same scam that others have experienced. I called the phone number and left a message asking for proof of debt in writing, their bar license #, the default dates for both accounts and the case #. I also advised that I had filed a police report because I thought it might be a scam.
I have not heard back from the "law office" and this leads me to believe that it is a scam.
