on august 30 2008 i toured the PNC bank virtual wallet site and decided to apply and transfered a $100.00 deposit to open the account from my current banking institution. I received an email stating that my application is being reviewed and i would receive a response within 48 hours, there also was a phone number listed (800-226-5227) if you wish to speak to a Financial services consultant. The email goes on to state "PNC responds to all customer inquires within 24-48 hours". After the 48 hours, I had not heard from anyone by any means, 72 hours and so on, I hear nothing, all the while Iam watching my current bank account where on Sept 8 2008 the pending status goes to a withdrawl to PNC Bank. so on September 8, 2008 I emailed and asked to be contacted concerning my application, I get a response to my email saying "we cannot access your customer file, please call us at 1-888-762-2265". On September 8, I called this number which requires a account number which I did not have. so I tried the Financial Services Consultant phone number and I got an business called MSI Merchants Services, the person who answered the phone, said this has nothing to do with what I am looking for and hung up the phone. On Sept.15 I finally by passed the Telephone Banking System and got thru to someone by the name of Shawna who asked for my SS # and then told me she could not find my application anywhere, i was then transferred to Bob with online banking who requested my SS# and said he could not find me in the system anywhere, i was transferred to a Carl Davenport, who requested my SS#, name, address, he said there was no application or anything on file with my information at PNC bank. I was then transferred to a Greg in sales, who tried also to find my info, but to no avail. He took my phone number and assured me I would get a call the next day concerning this. By this time I felt very anxious and frustrated. At 8:30 on Sept 16 I got a call from Customer service Satisfaction dept. telling me they were looking into what was going on and would call be back later in the day. No one ever called back that day. on sept 17 i called the number (412-803-0100) from where I was contacted from the previous day and a recording said it was "not in service". I called one of the banking operator numbers and got a hold of a Lynn Mott and she asked for my SS # and i responded with a emphatic "no, I would not give out my SS# to anyone else at this place, I wanted to speak to a supervisor" and she continued to tell me if I would not give her my personal information she could not help me. I insisted to speak to a supervisor or mgr. and got James Kauffman in Customer service satisifaction who came on the phone and said, "your application has been denied", when i inquired as to why my $100.00 had been withdrawn and i had never heard from anyone with PNC Bank, he did not have any answer. I told him I wanted my money back into my current bank account and he said it would take 4 to 5 days for it to go back into my account. when i asked why it would take so long, since i first applied on august 30th and was never informed that i was denied, why had i not already gotten my $100.00 back. Mr. Kauffman would only re-iterate that my application had been denied. It is now September 23 2008, my current bank account still has not been credited the $100.00 and I called James Kaufman's extension 3 times today, once he was out to lunch and i talked to a Rebecca who took my work number, but mr. Kauffman did not return my call. When I got off from work today, I tried Mr, Kauffman two more times, but could only leave a message. This is suppose to be a bank, the unprofessionalism has been unbelieveable trying to get my money back, I know of motorcycle shops that do better business giving credit back. Do you have any suggestions, what can I do next??
