Complaint Review: PODS

PODS NEVER THE SAME STORY TWICE Nationwide, Nationwide

I used PODS to store my household goods while I hunted for a new house. Everything actually went fine until I set the time for the POD to be moved to my new address and the empty container subsequently picked up. My billing cycle started on the fifth of the month. Because my final delivery date to avoid another month's charge fell over July 4th, I was given a day's grace period to finish the move. All well and good.

I received an email with the an ETA of 3-6 p.m. for the truck to pick up the container at the old address. The morning of the pick up I receive a call from the driver saying he would arrive at the address at 10 a.m. This wasn't going to work because we were geared up for a 3:00 pick up. I called PODS and they had an ETA of 10-1 for the driver. They didn't argue when I said I had an email with a 3-6 time. With several more calls between the driver and myself, we got it taken care of, but it took the better part of a day to get it done.

Got the container delivered to the new address, unpacked, and awaiting final pick up. No problem. Got it all done in a timely manner. Then, they ran another month's charge through my bank. Called PODS. That's policy in case I didn't get unpacked in time. As soon as they hear from the driver that the container was picked up, the amount would be retuned to my bank account.

Three days later, I call PODS. Was told that it wasn't customary to refund money. Plus, they didn't have a billing address. They'd send a note to bookkeeping. My account would be reviews, and IF a refund was due, they'd take care of it. Sometime.

Everytime I talked to a rep at PODS there was a new story. None of the reps seem to know how things operate. I hope I get my money back, although I worry that I was misled on that.

Stay away from these people.

I just found out today that I will be charged for a month AFTER the container is gone in which case, they will NOT be receiving another dime other than the charges that they told me. Dispute the amount with the bank and with the credit companies. Transunion, Experian, and Eqifax.

It is not fair to pay for something that you do not have. Sorry this happened to you. Wish I read this report before I got a pods unit!
