I made the mistake of thinking that Polaris was a decent outfit when I bought my 2010 Polaris EV. It is an all electric ATV. From the start, the charging system was acting funny. The charging light is suposed to be green. However, every so often, it would be flashing red. When I contacted the dealer the reply was" yea it does that sometimes but Polaris does not know why so just unplug it & plug it back in."

It finally ended up back in the shop after the warranty expired but I had bought the extended warranty. After a week & $644 it came back to the camp for one hour. It still would not charge. This time it was decided it was a defective charging unit & shorted wires. Now the second half of the RIP OFF occurs. It seems that Polaris knew the charging units were not up to par. This came directly from the battery manufacturer that has been getting all the grief over it.

They have been trying to help but the batteries will not come back.  It seems that the defective charger had weakened the 8 batteries by applying an inadequate charge. To replace the battery, Polaris wants $225 each just for the batteries ($1800). Polaris & the extended warranty company just shuffles the problem back & forth & neither will cover them. It is classified as "CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES THAT ARE NOT COVERED"

That is like saying that the motor in your vehicle blew because of a defective oil pump. They replace the pump but the blown motor was secondary to the pump & is not covered.  I will never do any business with Polaris or the dealer in the Southern Tier of NY again. He has done nothing to help at all. He did not even get me a nickel back on the $644 that he charge the first time.  This was a $11,000 ATV.
