I purchased a LCD HD Polaroid TV in Dec 2005. I purchased it because it had the absolutely best picture of anything I saw except perhaps the $4000 Sony. It cost me over $1800 at Circuit City.

In July we had a storm and I unplugged it. when we plugged it back in we could not get anything. We called the warranty no for Polaroid, and they gave us a local repair shop. The guy - in two weeks came out and said they had to replace a major part - I forget what it is and he would have to do it at the shop.

It is now Sept 19 and we have no TV, no part and have called 5 different numbers at Polaroid, talked to 5 different people and made over 30 phone calls, half a dozen emails, and requested supervisors for whom we had to leave a message and never got a call back.

25 of these calls have yielded no person to talk to and more than once I held for over 10 minutes and was then disconnected.

I can get no one to call me back, now I can get no one to pick up the phone, and the last time I got a person, she said she had no record of my calls and got very nasty, offering me NO help.

The repair place says they have been told the part is back ordered and would not be available until mid September, which this now is, and still nothing.
We are so frustrated, we loved this TV, it worked well and had a fantastic picture, it was not cheap and is still under the Polaroid warranty, and teh repairman said it was covered. So what is the problem? Why can we not talk to anyone who will help and care about this situation?

How did any of you others get the name and address of the president. I'd like to go that route too. Help?

Cable Or SAT?

Do you have cable or satellite? The reason I'm asking is because I had the same thing happen to me. The lightning strike fried the TV and the computer. I had surge protectors on both, but it came through the phone lines and fried both. Check with your home owner's policy to see what is covered. My insurance was with usaa. My deductible was $250. I paid $400 for an $800 TV. usaa required that I take it to a TV repair shop and spend the $95 and have them, in writing, say it was fried by lightning. If it was, they'd pay the $95 and the $150. If not I'm out of luck and I'd have to pay the $95. Screw it, I chucked the TV and bought a new one. So much for usaa.
