I purchased six outdoor speakers from this company last year. After one year the drivers blown in them and the company will not honor thier warranty. Called twice and thier tech support just wanted to hang up on me.  Nice company, I'm not going away.

Sure sounds to me like you said all 6 were blown. 

When advising what amplifier to use a company takes into consideration how you intend to use it.  Speaker just do not blow out unless they are overdriven in some way.  You can respond in whatever immature way you like, but the fact remains that you caused the speakers to fail and you know it.

Unfortunately when many people realize they are wrong and have no adequate response, they resort to childish rants.  Sound familiar?

Were you looking to use those speakers to blast out "stories" about your ex, her sister in law(We have to guess, is Lori your sister or married to your brother?), the cop, and whoever else "screwed" you over? Pretty cool detective work, Ken. That was a good one! Hey Davy, did you ever send out that soda machine? Oh boy, oh boy, we have another cool soap opera to play with now! Ramjet, why don't you put your real name down if your gonna run your mouth off. And of course we have another dumb a that doesn't know what he's talking about on here.
Only 4 of the six blow out, so it is clearly not my equipment.

And you clearly can't read, Polk advised us of which amps to use and we picked the one they suggested. Got any more dumb responses.


I'm glad I'm not your neighbor by the way,,,,,LMAO. Please, I wouldn't want you as my neighbor. Ypur the nerd that sits on his computor reading other peoples post just so you can talk with someone.

Only a moron with no further cogent argument would accuse one of working for the company.

It's done on Ripoff Report on a daily basis and is pretty juvenile.



I have done warranty work for most major electronics manufacturers including Bose.  I was a senior audio technician.



How did you manage to blow them out without even using them?



Why don't you,  contact Polk and refer them to my original post and see what they say...I think you'll find out who the real jackass is here....have a nice day.

Higher capacity speakers

If you blew out all 6 speakers, it was your fault.  You need higher capacity speakers. 

You need to match speakers with your equipment and level requirements.  Polk could have helped with that before you bought them as could any other speaker company.  They are correct, it's not a warranty issue.  One could POSSIBLY be defective, not 6.

I'm glad I'm not your neighbor by the way.

Before you open your mouth you should know what your talking about, these were brand new never used. Wow, guess you feel stupid.

The amp is one that Polk said would be perfect, it was also the one the install agreed with that with best match the system. Wow, don't you feel dumb big mouth.
 

1. Using too large an amplifier and playing them very loud.
(Never used them yet and no need to crank it when you have six.)


2. Using too small an amplifiler and playing it to the point of distortion...at which point the speakers overheat and will burn out. It's a technical explanation as to how this can occur, but it DOES.
(Its called the drivers, thought you worked on these, guess not.)


3. Using excessive bass boost...the result being the same as 2 above.
(Wow, stick to your car speakers DA)

I would agree you that you know nothing and just wanted to run your mouth off.
If Polk has you as an enployee I caqn now see why the seakers were of such bad quality.

This is NOT a defect, but misuse on your part.  I've done audio repair work for more years than I care to say.  You can blow them out in several ways:

1. Using too large an amplifier and playing them very loud.



2. Using too small an amplifiler and playing it to the point of distortion...at which point the speakers overheat and will burn out. It's a technical explanation as to how this can occur, but it DOES.



3. Using excessive bass boost...the result being the same as 2 above.



I would agree with Polk...they owe you nothing.
