RECALL THE LT1 DISTRIBUTOR NOW BECAUSE THERE IS TOO MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. PONTIAC NEEDS TO STAND UP FOR THEMSELVES AND DO WHATS RIGHT. I HAD TO REPLACE A $1400 DISTRIBUTOR IN MY TRANS AM AND I WASN'T TO HAPPY WITH THAT. RECALLING THIS PRODUCT WILL MAKE CONSUMERS A LITTLE MORE HAPPIER WITH PONTIAC..THANKS

LT1 distributors will fail

GM LT-1 optispark distributors are failure prone. Common occurence is the water pump leaks coolant on it and it shorts out.
1994 and newer optisparks have a vent hole at the bottom to prevent condensation and moisture which causes failure. Something isnt being installed right on your car.
also, just go to the salvage yard and get a distributor and have it put on at an independent shop. labor is about 2 hours (100$) and the part itself is only 200$ used. Dont be a victim! Quit going to the dealer every time it breaks!
