I was a Manager at Popeye's in Bridgeview, IL.
Back in April on one of my checks I noticed that their was $9.78 taken out of my check and it was listed under advance. When I questioned it the RGM Mary Lindsey knew nothing about it. So I had to ask the District Manager Gary Peterson and he said that one of the cashiers had a credit card vote and declined to let the manager know so the money came out of the managers check.

Nice to know that they take money out of a persons check without letting them know the reason and since I was the manager it came out of my check, not the girl who made the mistake and didn't tell the manager about the problem. Also why did it only come out of my check and not out of the other manager on duty also.

There are always two opening and two closing managers. So why only take it out of my check, they had no answer for me. That's not a surprise cause when I asked which cashier it was they couldn't tell me who's drawer it was off of how convenient.

-NEXT-
One night (July 6, 2005) at work I slipped and fell, hurting my upper and lower back. Popeye's District Manager Gary Peterson told me the next day to hold off about three day before seeing a doctor. Needless to say I went to the doctors the very next day from falling. My doctor prescribed two prescriptions. Popeye's said they would pay for my medical visits and any prescription I was issued. When you as the RGM Mary Lindsey or the District Manager Gary Peterson about the payments you get the run around of the owner Mark is conveniently out of town. I called in two days after falling saying I was having very bad back pain from falling and was told if I did not show up to work I would be fired.

Another time they threaten to fire me, was when I notified work as to having a death in my family. I could not tend the services for the wake cause I was told I was the only one schedule to close the store and none of the other managers could switch with me. So I missed the wake and told them I would be going to the funeral and not coming in to work that day. While at the funeral service I was repeatedly harassed on my cell phone on what time I would be coming into work. I told them that I stated 3 days before the funeral that I was not coming in, after I told the one manager that she told me that my job was in jeopardy and if I did not come into work I would be terminated.

I left my family in time of need and showed up to work. When I reached work I was harassed, bad mouth and ridiculed, end in the long run I ended up quitting. I got sick of the other manager and employees harassed, bad mouth and ridiculed me I quit. If it was any other manager or employee nothing would have been question about taking the day off.
