Popular Ford ripoff business from hell, dirty ripoff liars, deceptive, liars, the business that doesnt give a dam tricked and lied to us victimized many consumers tricked and lied to us Brooklyn New York
Popular Ford on Coney Island Ave. in Brooklyn, the service center from hell. DO NOT EVER BRING YOUR CAR IN FOR REPAIR OR SERVICE HERE.
On April 28,2003 I brought my 2002 Lincoln Town Car in for service for a brake light that was staying lit on my dashboard.
1.I was told that I could wait for the car that it would be taken car of that day.
2.3pm in the afternoon, after waiting hours, I was told that they couldn't find the problem to leave the car and it should be ready the next day.
3. Tuesday April 29,2003 I called a few times during the day to find out the status of my car, and was told, they still didn't find the problem, to stop calling, when the car is ready they will call me.
4. Wednesday April 30,2003 came and went without a phone call.
5. Thurdsday May 1,2003 I was told that the ECU module had to be replaced that the car would be ready later in the afternoon.
6. Friday May 2,2003 I called at 4:30 pm to find out if the car was ready, I wanted to pick the car up at this point, get it out of that shop and bring it to Bay Ridge Lincoln Mecury Dealership in Brooklyn, and was told that the entire dashboard was apart that the car wasn't ready.
7. Sat. May 3, 2003 I was so disgusted with the service at Popular Ford I headed over there and told them I wanted the car back NOW. Low and behold there was the car, dashboard put back together. I asked "why didn't someone call me to tell me that the car was ready? It has been here for 5 days, and all of a sudden it's ready? I get in the car, and saw that the brake light was off, figuring that it was fixed. They fixed it all right, they fixed it so good that the light didn't come on at all even when the emergency brake was on.
8. I went back on Monday May 5,2003 to tell them that the light does not come on at all now, that's how good you fixed it. They gave me the print out sheet of what they supposedly did and had the nerve to charge FORD MOTOR company $434.93 for something that still wasn't working.
9. Monday, May 12,2003 I brought my car to BayRidge Lincoln service center, they took the car and within minutes found the problem. They showed me that POPULAR FORD cut the wire and disconneted it from the brake light system, taped it up and left it hanging behind the dashboard. That POPULAR FORD never fixed the problem. They could't believe what they had done to the car and had the nerve to submit a bill for repair that was never done.
10. I called the 800 number to make a complaint against Popular Ford, the service there is horrible, they lied, they cheated and have no concern to the customers that bring their cars in for any kind of service. The horror stories that you hear while waiting in the waiting room, would be enough to turn everyone over in their graves. This is not the first time that we have had problems with Popular Ford, but rest assured, it was my last problem with them.
11. I recieved a phone call from Jamie Rizzo/Russo owner and manager of Popular Ford after making the complaint to the Ford Motor Co.telling him of the horrendous service that I recieved, that he needed a major change of management in his place, how dare he charge for a service that wasn't done. He didn't seem to care. Sure they're all nice on the phone when you talk to them, that's because the conversations are recorded, but talk to them face to face and see what happens, it's like you just want to scratch their eyes out. This place should definetely be investigated, just have someone go in there for a minor problem and see what happens.
12. Also, under the Lincoln Mercury commitment plan, if any dealership keeps your car overnight, they are suppose to give you a loaner car free of charge. When I asked Popular Ford about this, I was told, sure we can give you a loaner car, but it will cost you $30.00 a day. I was also told by one of the mechanics there, that he knows of many, more than he would like to talk about, how they operate there, the things that they do to the customers, how the bill them for repairs not necessary, but said,"I need my job so I don't say anything."
13. I have owned FORD cars all my life and this experience just broke the straw on the camels back. I once brought my 1995 Thunderbird which I purchased in Maryland to them because it was making a noise in the brakes, they told me I should bring it back to where I bought it to be fixed. I brought in my 2001 Mustang for a minor leak, and after them having the car for over a week for a minor repair, was given the car back, full of grease and dirt all over the fenders. Even with the Lincoln Town Car, it was filty dirty, full of dirty hand marks all over the dashboard. I can go on and on.
14. I advise all that have any problems with the cars NOT TO GO TO POPULAR FORD SERVICE CENTER on CONEY ISLAND AVE, in BROOKLYN for anything, unless you have plenty of money in your pockets, cause it's gonna cost you a bundle, and most likely you'll be back cause they don't know what the hell they're doing over there.
15. SHAME SHAME SHAME on POPULAR FORD in BROOKLYN NY.

It is time car makers wake up and follow up on what car dealers are doing. How is a car maker to build confidence with the consumer if the dealers have no clue what they are doing?

POPULAR FORD STINKS

While I'm at it..here a just few other incidents that I know of that took place at POPULAR FORD service center on CONEY ISLAND AVE, in Brooklyn.
1.While waiting for my car on that Monday April 28, 2003, I was talking with another customer, who was waiting for his car, he told me " that he had similar problem with a light staying on the dashboard" and they charged him $850.00 to fix the problem. After picking up the car and driving away, a couple of days later, he got stopped by NYPD and got a ticket for no brake lights, and the light on the dashboard was still lit. Goes to show how good they fixed his problem.
2. My friend purchased a FORD TRUCK in GEORGIA, relocated back to Brooklyn, at the time of purchase he bought the extended service warranty for the engine knowing that it was a work truck. He broke down with the truck and had it towed to POPULAR FORD and was told that the engine needed to be replaced. The warranty dept, came and looked at the engine to see if the repair or replacement would be covered under the extended plan that he purchased and was told NO, because it's a WORK TRUCK it would not be covered. POPULAR FORD charged him $6,000.00 to replace the engine with a re-built engine. The next day he heard a noise, brought it back and was told that it was nothing. A couple of weeks later the noise became louder and he brought it back to POPULAR FORD, and was told that there was a problem with one of the pulleys, and wanted to charge him $350.00 to fix it. This was on a FRIDAY, they said they would have to order the part it wouldn't be in till Monday and that meant 2 days of loosing pay. We suggested that he take the truck out of there asap, bring it to his regular mechanic, which he did, his mechanic had it fixed in 2 hours and was back to work and only cost $125.00. NOW YOU TELL ME...WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE...??????????????????????? POPULAR FORD ARE ROBBING THE PEOPLE..
3. While I was waiting in the waiting room, another customer was in there yelling and screaming out- raged because they didn't do the right thing for her either. All she wanted was her windshield wipers fixed and they couldn't find the problem. The service manager told the mechanics, call the police and get her car, that he didn't want to service it any longer because of her behavior. They are lucky that she didn't smack the hell out of some.
4. I needed an extra key for my 2002 Lincoln Town Car. I was told that it would cost me $25.00 for the blank, then $190.00 to program the key. I said..ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND !!!!!!!!!!!!!! While at the DMV in Brooklyn, there is a booth that sells and makes keys. It took only 10 minutes to program 2 original keys for the car for only $80.00. These are the same exact keys that POPULAR FORD wanted to charge me $215.00....THEY ARE OUT OF THEIR MINDS....and they get away with this? SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE WITH POPULAR FORD SERVICE CENTER.
I WOULD LOVE TO SEE AN UNDERCOVERED STING OPERATION PERFORMED TO CATCH THEM RED HANDED AND EXPOSE THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
