PORT ABSTRACT, Attempted Rip-off by Port Abstract, GARDEN CITY New Jersey
I received e-mail notification from Port Authority stating that they had reviewed my resume on Careerbuilder.com and needed somemone to cash checks for overseas businesses that had no way to cash checks without numerous government intervention. I would receive 7% of the check amount. I was instructed to send the money to overseas location.
On Dec 7, 2005, I received a check for $2,103.00 from Port Authority, Inc. It was a strange looking check with "JP Morgan Chase Bank, 267 Old Country Road, Carle Place, NY 11514" as the issuing agency. Immediately, I started reseaching the company and found a Rip-off Report on this company.
Please warn careerbuilder.com users of this possible fraud company before someone else gets ripped off. They (Port Authority) know that the individual cashing the check will be held liable for the amount of the check.
