We rented the P.O.D.S storage unit which they had inspected new and in perfect condition inside and out.
We moved to Louisiana for a few months and our unit went to Houston were it remained till we moved to Cornelia Georgia.

It was then moved to Duluth GA and shipped to our home in Cornelia on thier truck.

We opened it and most of our items were either smashed or broken, boxes tossed around even a wrought iron table busted. We have pictures of everything.

Upon removing items we noticed broken floor bolts and the side walls had split wood near the bolts the bolts were bent upwards showing that it had appeared to have been dropped and the impact forced the bolts to bend upwards.
We have broken bolt pieces and numerous pictures of damaged items and the damaged POD, and the original inspection sheet signed.

We have tried calling which we asked if they were recording our calls and they said yes incomminmg and outgoing, they will be able to see and hear how many calls we made to them and how many they made to us.
They answered us back 1 time after many, many attempts on our part. Along with emails which I saved unanswered.
We so desperatley tried to get in touch with them to resolve this matter. We have emailed numerous times & I have all of them as well some with pictures others just asking for someone to at least give us a call letting us know what is going on.

We have taken all the steps with the proper personel to get this resolved without going thru the BBB but they basically told us today on the phone call which we made to them that they were not liable because no one working for them filled out any incident report in any of thier warehouses and without an incident form they denied responsibility.

As if someone would repoert that they dropped someones POD thinking they damaged items and would have to pay ? It is easier to claim not responsible ar it was the way you packed.

We packed like they showed us we had help from someone who had moved items in trucks before with us and everything was where it should have been.

When we still had the POD we asked them to come out and see the damage first hand to our belongings and to the POD itself but they were unwilling to do so they told us some one will come out but they never did.
Then we were told just to go ahead and unpack and take pictures.

The outside of the unit had broken boards underneath.
Strap burns (which they say happens all the time.
Numerous dents and scratches all of which I have pictures of inisde and out.

We also have the inspection sheet stating the perfect condition deliverd Such as paint, tape, fasteners, 4x4 skids, detail, decals, roof etc.

And pictures of everything even the truck pulling up and how they pick it up and put it on the truck bed.
We asked for a settlement thru the BBB and we got a letter back with the wrong name on it as if they didnt even know who we were or our case. basically said not our problem We gave this company money in good faith that our belongings would be delivered to us in the same manner of which we stored them in.That didnt happen.

PODS IS THE WORST! I'M SURPRISED THEY'RE SILL IN BUSINESS!

I used a POD and was astounded at all the fees and the high monthly costs. $150 a month for a smallish POD?! $35 fee for not having an asphalt driveway, $49 delivery fee and a $49 pick up fee?! Are you kidding me?!

They nickle and dime you to death.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE PODs!

Instead buy a $300 10' x 20' "garage in a box" from BJs or Sams club. It will last 5 years and more. Throw it away after you're done with it. You'll be far better off using this for storage.

Poor customer service at pods a total joke

#4UPDATE EX-employee responds

Yes that happens a lot with the Pods and customer service yes could be a problem there. I worked in the national call center as a sales rep/ csr for 6 months and it wasnt a job I want to remember. The customer service department is a total joke you cannot get a hold of accounting or pressing placement issue with the pod with ease and customers usually are mad because you got to tell them that department will get back to them about something very important.A customer never wants to here that when they have a billing, damage or a placement issue. As a csr you have to email those departments because you cant get a hold of them directly because of poor staffing practices. There is some nice people that work in the call center dont get me wrong but as far as customer service goes for the customers its not a great company and that makes it harder to do ones job as a csr agent.

Also I hear they have now outsourced some sales and customer service calls to Panama to save money so that could make things ever more difficult with the language barrier if you choose to rent a Pod.
