Complaint Review: Porte Network Consultants David Mathis Dave Mathis

While searching Yahoo Auctions for a Laptop Computer, I discovered an auction for a Sony VAIO FRV37 P4. The seller claimed to have 20 units and encouraged calling direct.

Not wanting to wait for the auction to end and taking my chances of being out bid, I called to establish a price, sent my cashiers check to David Mathis at Porte Network Consultants via UPS.

I phoned on August 9, 2004, to verify that Dave had received the check and was told the check was there and the order was being processed and I would receive a tracking number soon.

The check was endorsed by David Mathis 702-413-1332.

Subsequent calls were either not answered or were hung up as soon as I identified myself. Messages were never returned.
Computer was never received.

Incidentally, the original auction was cancelled before consumation of a sale. Several days later (Aug.16) an identical auction appeared. I contacted Yahoo but they did NOT agree to follow through in stopping the rip-off.
