I received a unsolicited job offer on or about December 12, 2005. The job title was Correspondence Assistant/Manager. The following was the information on the position:

"Congratulations! You became a member of our Company. We are happy to Greet you as one of our employees. Before we start our work, we want to ask you one more time: are you ready for it? Are you ready to receive and transfer the money funds to our Company, using our instructions? If you are sure that you are ready, and you really want to cooperate with us, send us a e-mail, and we'll get started!"

I was then emailed a contract to sign. I was told to email it back to them with a copy of my ID. I then began receiving payments through Paypal, which I Western Union'ed to the Ukraine, per my "job responsibilities". The funds were sent to:
First Name: Svetlana
Last Name: Bryk
Address: 185/a Majayskogo st.
City: Kiev
Zip code: 25018
Country: Ukraine
HOW THEY DID IT? Identity theft! They added my name to a Ebay account that hadn't been used in awhile. Then, evidently, they also linked this Ebay account with my Paypal address for payment. Then they send the Buyer emails from an AOL account, letting them know that the product is being mailed. Of course, this was to buy time until they received the wire from me.

Close your E-bay, PayPal accounts

Did you accept a "job offer" through E-MAIL?
Did you sent the copy of your ID to an E-MAIL?
Did you signed/accepted an E-MAIL contract?
Did not you find strange this offer:
"to receive and transfer the money funds to our Company"?

I would recommend you immediately contact e-bay and PayPal to close your accounts.
Then go to this FTC site: http://www.consumer.gov/idtheft/, where you can find info, what other steps you can/should take to clean up this mess, before those guys use your ID for many more illegal activities.
