We would like to file a report concerning fraud. We have ordered a large quantity of soccerballs from a company in Sialkot Pakistan, “Power Leather Industries”. We have paid a large amount of money for these soccerballs, but what we received was a very low quality tennisball. Please see the letter below and attached files for all information.

Please find specified below the goods we ordered:

  • Red (PMS 485c)
  • Yellow(PMS 116c)
  • Bluegreen (PMS 3035c)
  • Black (Pantone process black)

-          Design: Blue soccerball, with 2 *** logo’s and 2 *** logo’s. On the hexagon panels is a yellow pattern printed over blue base color.

-          102.485 pcs (22035pcs Blue design, 80450pcs Red design) 30% paid for,

Received Samples an pictures:

We have received samples from seller. Samples are according to our request when it comes to size, printing, color and weight as specified above under ‘ordered designs’.

Seller also provided some pictures of production process.

Received Shipments:

Buyer holds seller responsible for the cost (as specified below) because:

  1. Buyer / Client did NOT RECEIVE ANY Soccerballs as ordered.
  2. Buyer / Client received very low quality tennisballs, in different colors. These balls where wrong size, wrong material, wrong printing (no printing), wrong weight and wrong color.  Buyer / Client received these tennisballs in different shipments:
    1. The first shipment received by our client in Bangkok was sent by air on the 16th of March from Lahore airport in Pakistan. Instead of 16.450 soccerballs, we received 16.450 tennisballs.
    2. The second shipment was sent by seafreight, in 2 containers, 40foot HQ each. The first of 2 containers (with container number NYKU5651560) was inspected in the BMT harbor in Bangkok on Tuesday March 25th 2014. The seals were intact and only broken when a custom official was present. When the container was opened, we found 571 cartons with 50 tennisballs each inside the container. Thecontainer was barely filled. Packing list and invoice stated different weight and volume than was found inside the container. Video available for entire checking process of container.

After receiving the tennisballs by airfreight, buyer asked for an explanation of the received tennisballs and a confirmation that the containers would NOT contain tennisballs, but the soccerballs buyer ordered. Seller explained a mistake was made with the cargo, and confirmed all soccerballs were in the containers, exactly as ordered. Mr Mian Qaiser even told us he had personally helped putting the soccerballs in the container, so he was 100% sure everything was in order with this shipment.

Specification of costs:

Goods: € 130.378,50 (Had to be re-ordered from different supplier)

Air Shipment costs of tennisballs: €1.958,80

Custom duty costs of tennisballs by airfreight: €6.211,77

Sea Shipment costs of tennisballs:€ 5.486,60

Extra shipment costs from delay: € 50.000,- (all soccerballs need to be transported by airfreight instead of seafreight now)

All costs of client for rescheduling entire promotion € 76.500,- (which have been charged to us)

In 2013, this same supplier scammed my company. We ordered 5,000 T-shirts, made payment and what we received were rags...Dirty and tattered clothing. Here's the story;

I contacted Mian Qaiser on Alibaba about promotional T-shirts and he offered me good price and quickly sent very good quality samples to me in Accra by DHL. we paid 50% for production to start because it was a very urgent order. He sent me photos of the produced goods and it looked perfect. we sent the remaining 50% and airfriehgt cost to him. He delayed so much in shipping the goods and then he later sent me a British Airway airway bill - indicatiing the goods were going to be airfreighted by BA. It was a genuine airway bill with genuine number but that was all part of the scamming scheme. The goods were delivered to the shipping agents but Mian never shipped them.

By some luck(as it seemed at the time) i got the contact details of this agent and he confirmed that the consignment is at their warehouse but Mian had not paid so they cannot ship until they receive payment. In a hurry to meet my deadline with my client, I arranged with the agent to ship the goods to me so I had to send another payment to the agents to send the goods. I got comfortable with the fact that there was a consignment meant for my company so at least, I can deliver to my clients. The goods were finally airfreighted with Emirates Airlines. They arrived in Accra a few days later and to my horror, they were all rugs...complete rubbish. I called and called this company, but no answer. Emails were never responded to. Followed up with the Sialkot chamber of commerce and I was told Power Leather Industries is not registered with the chamber so there's not very much they can do.

I have done everything to recover my almost $30,000 back but to no avail. I still believe I can get  my money back one day from this fraudster. I am really amazed that He's gone on with this fraud for so long and even has a Facebook page with likes!
