Precision Autoworks installation of used engine ripped off

Precision Autoworks (then Precision German Auto)installed a used motor in my MR2 in Sept.2000 at the cost of $2000. When I picked up the car I was told that it smokes but it was only because the engine hadn't run for a while and driving it would moisterize the valve stem seals and stop it from smoking. Well it never stopped smoking.

After a couple of months the car started to run hot. I returned the car to Precision and they serviced the raditor at an additional charge of $245. The car ran hot again before I made it home. They picked up the car and said they did a leak down test and it wasn't the head gasket.

Once again the car got hot before I got home. They picked up the car again this time they didn't say what they did if anything other than drive the car.When I picked up the car it got hot again.

They picked up the car and didn't call us. After they had the car for a week I called and was told by part owner Jim f___ you and was hung up on. When I called back I was told the head gasket was bad and it would cost about $1000.

Now I realise that I bought a used engine. But Precision picked out this engine and I'm sure they knew the the reason it smoked was because of the bad head gasket.If they didn't know I question their competence.

I think that for $2245 I should get more than a couple Months use fron my car and not have to pay for something that was wrong with this engine when they installed it.

At the time Dave complained that he was hurting for money, I even had to pay before any work was done $500 for him to get the engine.

Now he has had my car for over two weeks and won't call or return our calls.
