Came out to fix my door, company said they repair all garage door openers but once they came out and qupted a $599.00 door special, they said they could not guarentee my Sears opener. After the work was completed he wanted $650.45 for the repair. I called back the company and stopped my VISA card that I charged the bill to until the amount is resolved. He would not take the amount he promised he would.

When I worked the opener from the wall the moter for the opener shook teribbly and the light bulb broke and crashed on the floor. He would not clean it up and said it is because he cannot guarentee the Sears opener but he would be happy to sell me one of their openers for a lifetime warranty for $400.oo in addition to fixing the door. All I received was a 225- spring, center bearings that are plastic (he never told me they would replace my steel bearings with plastic( 1 set of cables, drums, pds rollers and set-end bearings. I addwed on my slip he wanted me to sign I agreed for the work but I put on the slip next to his notation that I did not agree to the 650. fee only the 599. fee. When I called to report them to the company. I spoke to a rude office manager Vicky who said I knew there was an addition service charge but I told her I thought the service charge was included in the $599. price. I have called the corporate headquarters but have not gotten any call back. I also emailed the Cleveland BBB since they advertised they were a member in their Yellow Pages add. I have not gotten any word back as yet. I am sure they probably tampered with the opener so that I would also pay for an opener that they can provide for $400.oo. This is so wrong!!!!

You people are so full of yourselves. You don't stand behind anything. PDS is known for it's extensive scams. Been there, done that, so tell it to someone that's gullable enough to hear this BS.

I went to your main office numerous times, via phone calls, letters, etc. guess what, I still don't have the money PDS stole from me. And you want people to believe you're legit, bull!

Claiming you'll help one person out of the millions you screw each year, including but not limited to: emoployees, franchise owners, customers, etc. Come on now.

And let's not go there about your "Central MD location." I worked for that idiot. Still, this is going on, look around, who haven't you all screwed?

Hello, I've seen this time and time again. First off, no legit company should ever charge $599 or more for the service done to your door. You were actually lucky, their "package" deals consist, usually, of a $749 or $999 "deal." You can go to a legit comapny and purchase a door w/ installation for that much. PDS also uses Nylon rollers which tend to break easier, they split. However PDS will claim they're the only company with their own labels, not true and PDS "labels" are not theirs alone. Not to mention these parts are less quality than any others. They pay a fraction of what other companies pay for parts and still charge consumers more than 500% of cost. Same went with the Opener they were tring to get you to buy.

As for this opener, Sears openers are quite easy to fix, parts are always available and Chamberlain makes Sears openers. I would preferably suggest Liftmaster, but Chamberlains are just as good and a very reasonable price. What this tech did and was trained to do: he removed some of the teeth on your motor's chain. That is why what happend, happened. Call another company out that does Free estimates and explain what happened. They should give you a form that they fill out and I garentee it says that this was done to your opener.

Stopping payment on your card was the best thing you could do. Contacting PDS main office is and was just a waste of time, they will never get back with you and if they acknowledge your existance, it will be to tell you "to bad so sad." Now for the BBB, another waste of time. After what happened to me, I found that the BBB knows exactly what is going on with this company and REFUSSES to display complaints, REFUSSES to help the consumers and plays you off like you never made a report. Hell, they even give all PDS a good, satifactory rating with membership. (I did a report with specific correspondences to the BBB's and myself about two years ago, please take a look)

At this point, the best thing you can do is to not pay this service charge, dispute it again and again if need be. You should call a comapny that does a free estimate/inspection and take what they find to your states Attorney General. All the AG's are sick of PDS's scams and that want to see this company wiped out. They will help you.

Best of luck!
