Precision Metal Fabrication/ Trevor Hall Short paid freight $1207, claiming damage and other things, but never let us handle through insurance. Tucson Arizona
I'd like to let all trucking companies know that this company has given us a run around about remaining freight costs for over 3 months. We were owed 3654.90 to be sent by wire transfer for the transport of a Haas SL-20 indoor machine (used). We hauled the freight on 04-03-14 and delivered on the 04-10-14. No damage was noted on the paperwork. When we contacted Trevor Hall at Precision Metal Fabrication regarding the wire, he stated he'd be short paying the shipment and only sending 2368.19. On his own invoice, he reduced our price by 981.81 and 250.00, totaling 1231.81. The 981.81 was taken off, as he claims the equipment fit in a smaller space (16FT) than he was quoted. We priced the customer to ship the machine (3600.00) + (54.90 for special cables sent out to the shipping site). We can not legally deduct a driver's pay because he was able to turn a piece and take up less space on the trailer, nor reduce it by almost a 1,000.00 for doing so. He wasn't the one that loaded the equipment, and in no way was the price contingent on exact deckspace. We quoted the ship machine and did this as promised. There was no damage noted, but once it was offloaded and we asked about our payment, Trevor began to dispute issues but no true documenation was there. He claimed the machine "may" be damaged, but wouldn't know until the machine was fired up. It's now 6-25-14 and he's been telling us for a over 2 months that the technician will be in to start the machine so we know. My belief is that the machine is already up and running and he's simply just putting us off. At this point, we just want to be paid the full balance for the work we did. If he claims there is damage, it needs to be handled through insurance, which we've already tried to contact him to get this going. Photos had been requested, nothing sent, no actual claim of what is damaged or why the short pay, just continued stalling. My last conversation he told me to "f*** off", when I mentioned we'd be turning it over to collections. He never gave us any set date on the technician, just continued vaguness so that we could keep pushing it off. Please be careful with this company, and in the future we'll be pre-paid for freight before we handle anyhting.

The day the freight shipment arrived, I called David at Abba Freight and told him the machine was not properly loaded and arrived sitting on half of its support. Additionaly, they had quoted us 26' of deck space and charged us accordingly. The machine and components was mixed up with another load over 17' of the trailer and it took 3 of us with 2 forklifts and 3 hrs of work to get it all unloaded. Would our shipment have been loaded on the 26' as quoted, it would have easily been unloaded by a single person and 1 forklift in less than an hour.
Since the machine was not loaded properly, we were concerned the bed may have twisted which could not be verified till the machine was run. We purchased a new building and as with many new things, delays occur. I told Dave I would look past the minor scratches and added work as long as no major damage had occured to the machine and we could verify it was ok. I paid a portion of the charges and held the rest till it could be checked out. It took longer than we had hoped to get electicity run to the machine but every time Abba Frieght called us, I gave them the most up to date information. On numerous occasions Dave was rude to me and I told him to no longer contact me and have someone else call us. Comically enough Dave decided to call us the morning the machine was to be turned on and threaten to turn me into collections. I told him of this and he said he didnt care and was going to turn it in. I had had it with his rude offensive behavior at this point and told him to F*** off. We fired off the machine later that day (25th) and sent a wire transfer for the remaining balance.
Instead of being concerned about the customers well being and the careful handling of their freight, they would rather harass, threaten and make bogus claims like this. This company was paid in full prior to their construction of this report and I have proof should anyone desire it. Should anyone need sensitive freight carried, I would highley recommend a different carrier.
