I called a Puerto Rican radio station when DJ asked to name a city in PR without the  letter 'a'. It was a contest to win tickets to DisneyWorld

I happened to be one of the winners and was told of vacation package for 4 people, free car rental and cruise. Although in disbelief with the extent of  prize, I listened as the representative explained about how lodging and food would be included. I only had to worry about airfare.

He then proceeded to tell me that since I had won prize, I would have to pay taxes. I didnt find that unusual as I had won a previous prize and paid taxes. My mistake was in believing the gentleman when he said I had to pay today, 12/16/13.

I should have trusted my gut that said, 'Why should I pay money if I just won a prize?' And how can the people  of Puerto Rico afford to pay 300 dollars when there are no jobs and the economy is bad on the island and in the US? Against those thoughts I trusted the Rep and handed him my money.

Im disapointed that Preferred Guest Resort does business like this, preying on people who live in Puerto Rico and on people like me who trusted that the radio station 102.3 would have a legitimate contest and support a company that doesnt use lies to get business.

I  will be filing a complaint against the Better Business Bureau in PR and in the US. In the meantime I hope this complaint serves as a warning to others who are listening to the Puerto Rican radio stations and hear of a prize that is too good to be true.
