My wife and I were going to lunch at Coconut Grove and found a parking at 2901 S. Bayshore Dr. We approached the meter pay machine and followed the instructions, payed $5 in cash for 2 hours of parking. When the reciept printed i noticed that the license plate number was different from the one that i enetered. There was no one to address this situation with, so i posted my payed reciept on my winshield and proceeded to lunch. One hour and a half later we returned back to my car and found it with two boots, one in the front wheel and one and the back wheel. There was also a big orange sticker on my driver's window with instructions to call in to remove the boots for an $89 fee, all because they claimed the license plate number did not match the vehicle.

At that time i explained what had happened that i entered the correct tag number and at the time of printing it displayed s completely different license plate number. Therefore, the ticket was payed for two hours and i used it. At the same time Premire Representitive showed up and refused to remove the boots without full payment. I called the police and they informed me that they will not get invovled. I had no choice but to pay the robery fee at that time because i had to pick-up my child at school in the next ten minutes. this complaint that i am reporting is not just because of the $89, it because of the scam they are getting away with and the principles. i will take this as far as i have to, but i will find justice, not just for myself but for others that have been taken advantage of.

This is in rebuttal to the person who chastized the original person who filed the complaint.  Does it matter if the individual entered the wrong tag or the machine did it?  I agree - the guy probably entered it wrong.  He made a mistake.  This parking facility and Premier Booting took advantage of that mistake and made him pay for it.  The penalty did not justify the crime.  My wife had a similar thing happen when she entered the tag correctly, but failed to display the ticket.  They could have checked the computer and seen that she did pay - but that would not produce any INCOME for them.  GREED - pure and simple and the lack of HUMAN DIGNITY.

all because they claimed the license plate number did not match the vehicle.

- Umm...they were right.  By your own admission the license plate number on the ticket did not match the vehicle that was using it.

I do like your excuse though as it is very original.  So I guess what you are saying is that the machine just picks people at random and makes up an entirely new licence plate on the ticket.    Where because of this "scam" they are making the grand total of $89.

But lets expand this out.  For this scam to work they would first have to program the machine to make up license plate numbers.  Now, this means that they probably have someone on the "inside" at that company to do this and had to pay them off.  But then so no one gets suspicious they can't do it to every car.  So they have to limit it to just a few...probably no more than one or two a day.

Now, since this would be a form of fraud by many peoples standards they would also be risking heavy jail or prison time for what again?  Oh yea..$89.

So here is what I suggest.  Take your story to the local news media.  Have them use their cameras and purchase 2 hours worth of parking and watch what plate comes out.  If it is the right one...try again(remember it won't happen every time).   Or how about this video every person put in the license plate and verify what comes out.  As soon as you get a mismatch..they have their story.
