While on vacation in Cancun, my husband and I fell for the same scam that so many others seem to have fallen victim. We bought a 10 year vacation plan for $1650 USD and in turn were supposed to get great deals on vacations. We tried to use the program the first year and realized right away that it was a scam, so we stopped paying our yearly maintenance fees and assumed that they would cancel our membership. Obviously they did not, and we received the same threatening and nasty phone calls from Monterey Collections agency that so many others had described.

Wanting to protect our credit scores, I first sent an email to owners@premier-holiday.com stating that I wanted a written invoice, etc. They never responded to my request. I then sent a certified letter to the collection agency with my dispute. The collection agency told us that if we paid the fee that they would in turn cancel the membership for us. Wanting it to all be over, we paid the agency.

I do have the email that states that once we paid, "the debtor will not retain any rights, title or interest in the above mentioned contract, and ..." However, guess what was in my mailbox yesterday. A new statement from Premier-Travel wanting maintenance fees for 2008 and 2009.

Obviously, they are not going away and this situation needs to be resolved. When is the government going to step in and stop allowing them continually harass American Citizens and jeopardize their names and credit scores with an obvious scam?
