I don't normally purchase used vehicles because of two bad experiences. 1; I purchased a used vehicle from a used car dealer in Lafayette, LA during 1999 for $6,000.00 (cash) only to learn the vehicle was involved in a major accident where the airbag deployed. The vehicle had nothing but problems. I ended up junking the vehicle 6 months later A year later I learned the owners fingers were cut off, and he was shot forcing him to close down the dealership. An animal feed store was built in its place.

I decided to purchase brand new vehicles until 2007 when I decided to purchase another used vehicle. I paid $12,000.00 cash for a Cadillac DTS from Maximum Deals in Manassas, VA. Within the first week, I notice the engine running hot. I contact the guy who sold me the car, but of course they had the money so I got no help; I was on my own. I spent $1,200.00 on the vehicle trying to get it fixed with no success. About 3 months later, a mechanic found the problem; a cracked engine. The engine had to be replaced ($3,500.00).

And now, here we go again; during September 2015 I was hit in the back while driving my new 2014 vehicle. I was totaled. Due to my upcoming transfer overseas for an extended period, purchasing another new vehicle was not a good idea (at the time). Therefore, during October 2015 I decided to give a used car dealer a try. BIG MISTAKE AGAIN!!! I found a vehicle owned by Premium Motors Inc (Located in Stafford, VA off Jefferson Davis Hwy (Rt-1)) I visited and test drove the vehicle. The original asking price was $10,000.00 but the Kelly Blue Book was $8,300.00 which I informed the dealer at Premium Motors Inc. The Premium Motors Inc dealer and I agreed on a total price for the vehicle ($7,800.00). I was clearly asking questions because of my prior experiences with these "side of the road thieves" lying to customers. The Premium Motors Inc  dealer showed me the (or a) Car-Fax which was clean and had one previous owner. He even stated, "if you have any problems, just bring it in and I'll have my guys take care of it". I handed the dealer $7,800.00, and he happily accepted it.

Thirty day tags provided by Premium Motors Inc were expiring, so I called the dealer to inquire about the plates; he stated, "oh I just got them today (day 29). I went to Premium Motors Inc and the dealer gave me some documents, telling me to take them to the DMV and they'll give me the plates. The DMV told me the taxes had to be paid ($332.96), and the vehicle required an emissions test ($28.00). I contacted the dealer at Premium Motors Inc and passed my concern to the lady at the front desk. I also told her I wanted to know if there was something else this guy at Premium Motors Inc was not telling me about this vehicle. She informed me that the dealer who sold me the vehicle was not in, but she would pass the information to him, and have him contact me. I was on my cell phone across the street from Premium Motors Inc; he was in-fact at his desk next to the lady whom I was speaking with. Of course I never received a return call from Premium Motors Inc.

Chain of problems with this vehicle begins; I immediately made an appoint with GMC service department and ask if they could run a diagnostic on the vehicle, and tell me everything that's wrong: here is what this pathetic guy at Premium Motors Inc sold me: (1) Before I purchased the vehicle, I asked about the vehicle pulling to the right when braking  and riding rough, he told me the tire was low, and they added air and the vehicle drives fine now: GMC Service department found: Front struts, and rear shock severely worn and needed to be replaced, and alignment was terribly off  (I paid $1,058.65) to have this work completed. (2) When I test drove the vehicle before sale during October 2015, I noticed a (Next Service due (Mar 2016)) jiffy lube service sticker on the top left windshield. Between the time I  or the vehicle and took delivery (45 minutes), someone had scraped the sticker off the windshield. That concerned me, and for good reason: GMC replace the oil, adding it had not been replace for a long time as it was thick and very dirty, the oil filter was stuck on the motor it had not been change in so long. (3) During Feb 2016, the vehicle continued to drive sluggish until it loss power on I-95 in rush-hour traffic; $135.00 for a tow to GMC, and the mechanics at the service department reveals: Throttle Body Assembly (bad), Steering Angle Sensor (bad), Headlamp relay (bad), AC belt (hanging from vehicle), AC Belt tensioner pulley (locked) Serpentine Belt (needed replacement), ECM (bad), and Clutch fan (bad). Thanks to GMC's compassion, they gave me a break on the cost of having this completed, but I still paid $2,157.02 to have these problems fixed. There you go; $3,711.63 to fix an $8,000.00 vehicle.

Moral of my factual story (I have all documents and sales receipts to prove); many folks now days has absolutely no morals with it comes to making a dollar. They will lie, cheat, steal, or whatever they have to do to get into your pockets. This guy at Premium Motors Inc was no different. He did not know my financial status (not that it made what Premium Motors Inc did right). To date, I've purchased a total of five used vehicle; (1) from New and Used car dealership: no problems, (1) from private party: no problems, (3) from Used Car dealership ("side of the road dealer"): major problems with all three. Please save yourself time and lots of money by purchasing your used vehicles from a reputable New/Used dealer, private party, or a reputable honest used car dealer (there has to be some good ones in the U.S.). Three strikes is enough for me, I will never purchase another used vehicle from a side of the road dealer. Folks; we have to aggressively expose the behavior of these dealers to protect our neighbors to our left and right. We do not need the government to shut down companies like Premium Motors Inc, we have the power to do that ourselves.

This is an update to my previous report. The vehicle continued to have problems, and I continue to put money into it to get the problems fixed. I also found out that Ultimate GMC charged me to fix recall problems, so their crooks too. Anyway, I had to have both top and bottom control arms replaced on the vehicle, all four brake calipers, pads, and hoses. Also, mechanic had to go into the engine again. Paid over $,6000.00 to fix a vehicle worth $8000,00 according to KBB. Over a $14,000.00 punishment for purchasing from Premium Motors Inc (Located in Stafford, VA off Jefferson Davis Hwy (Rt-1)). STAY AWAY FOLKS, or you will be their next victim.
