I am a fleet owner of expedited trucks. I was recruited to sign on one of my trucks with PTL (Premium Transportation Logistics)

I was looking for a carrier to move my entire fleet to. PTL recruiting assured me they had "plenty of miles."

We were also assured that the average rate per mile would be $1.80, their advertisements reflect this also.

However our truck only made 1 trip over 184 miles, and never received the "average" rate.

When we finally realized that we couldn't make enough revenue to pay for fuel and a driver we ended the contract.

Our settlements showed fuel amounts that never matched the fuel tickets. Although I tried to reconcile the discrepancies with PTL management and ownership, they would not respond. We were shorted nearly $150.00 for fuel expendtitures the first 2 weeks of operation.

We paid $100.00 weekly for license plates through PTL. When we cancelled the contract we were charged for an entire year of license plates although we only used their plate for 2 weeks.

Even though PTL failed to live up to their promises they deducted $350.00 from our final settlement for cancelling the contract.

It is obvious that PTL and the Premium Group use recruiting techniques that are unethical in the least. PTL by not solving the fuel discrepancies has shown itself to be a dishonest company.

Please take a warning: do not sign on with PTL under any circumstances. PTL will lie to you and steal from you. PTL will steal fuel money and no one there has the honesty to return your calls.

PTL and the Premium Group are apparently shysters who prey on owner operators, promising anything... but delivering only corruption.

If you want help going bankrupt sign on with PTL

Response to Mr Tucker

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Mon, June 15, 2015

Please note that Mr Tuckers truck was leased to Premium Transportation Logistics less than 2 weeks.  I believe that Mr Tucker is not being truthful in matters concerning our company.

Following is the email sent in response to Mr. Tucker's certified letter.

Mr. Tucker;

Please find attached scanned copies of your two settlement statements from Premium Transportation Logistics LLC along with a printout of the Fleet One fuel purchases made by your driver while the vehicle was leased.

Our actual cost of the fuel your driver purchased was $702.82.  Per the settlement statements we only charged you back $698.49.  Leaving a balance due to our company of $4.33.  Please also notice that we passed through our fuel discounts totaling $84.08 directly to you.

Allow me to work through your other settlement deductions:

  • Premium obtained IRP license plates for your vehicle.  We charge back the amount charged to us by the State of Ohio for your plates, plus a one-time $50 processing fee.  We do not know the actual cost of the plates until we are invoiced by Ohio BMV – IRP.   We begin deductions of $100 per week immediately, and continue charging $100 per week till the cost of the plate and the processing fee is obtained.  As you can see we charged you $100 on the first week (4/15/2015) and an additional $614.05 the second week (4/22/2015) to capture the entire cost of the plate ($714.05) because you quickly terminated your lease.  You were not charged our $50 processing fee.   Please be advised, once the plate is returned to our company, and is transferred to another vehicle, you will receive a credit back for your unused portion of the plate from the date it was transferred to another vehicle.   You will receive those prorated monies back.  I am checking to see if your plate has been transferred.

  • You will notice there are two (2) PTL fuel purchase transaction fees at $5.00 each on the 4/15/2015 settlement.  Your driver actually purchased fuel on three (3) transactions as noted of the fuel purchase printout leaving a balance due to our company of $5.00.

  • There is a deduction of $14.84 for fuel/mileage taxes due.  These taxes are computed electronically based on your miles travelled in each state and your fuel purchases made in each state.  There are no additional fees charged by our company for computing and paying the fuel taxes due.

  • There is a $350 deduction for early termination.  Our contract clearly states that should a lease be terminated within 90 days the early termination fee of $350 will apply.

I hope this clarifies all charges.

Thank you,
