I have been dealing with an alleged debt (which I believed to be identity theft) on a card that Capital One issued.
Capital One Bank has been issuing credit cards without verifying the applicant's identity.
I have also had difficulty getting any help from Capital One Bank on this matter.
Capital One has charged this debt off - - yet now I am receiving collection calls and letters from a firm called Pressler and Pressler - they claim to be a law firm - yet have added attorney fees and finance charges to the original debt.
Law firms cannot do this - and I believe the company to be an unscrupulous debt collection agency - research on the internet reveals many complaints about this organization - it may also be that they looked at my credit report without my permission - may have obtained financial records by dubious means - may even be in cahoots with Capital One Bank.
