Complaint Review: Prestige Auto Sales INC

I purchased three vechilces through Prestige Auto Sales, and I am about to purchase a third tomorrow.

In my personal experience I have found Serge very honest and forthcoming with me.  He had always told me any issues that were with the vehicle, and when I was unhappy with the one vehicle I was going to purchase he offered me another vehicle that I was very happy with.

There are companies outy there that for a fee will go and inspect a vehicle for yoy (for a fee) 0 I highly suggest you use one of these companies.

As for the vehicles I purchesed - one ran greaat for the three years I owned it (except for some inor issues which are to be expecter when buying a twenty year old car).  The only reason I got rid of it was because I totaled it in an accident last week.

The second vehicle I owned for a year with only one issue - the A/C needed to be recharged)  The reason I had to get rid of it was my own fault.  The oil pump went and I didn't notice the idiot light till it was too late)

I am totally confident that I will be 100% confident inj the vehicle that I am picking up from him tomorrow.

I have foun Serge to be nothing but honest in my dealings with him.  When buying a vehicle that is over ten or so years old, you can not expect not to put a few $$$ worth of repairs into it.

Of course YMMV with any used car seller.  I speak for myself only in my report.  My best sadvice is to hire a company to inspect the vehicle BEFORE you purchase it.  I am a mechanic myseld, and I inspect the vehicles I purchased from him before I bought them.  They akll needed some $$$ put into them, but nothing way out of the ordinady.

out of all used car dealers i have dealt with over the years, I have found him to be the most honest.  Personally, I will not deal with another usead car salesman except him.  Of course this is just my opinion  Just do your homework before you buy, and you shouldn't have too many issues.

I'm sorry you got taken by this fella, and I'm glad my report saved someone else a whole bunch of problems on the front end.  As far as the guy from TX and Fla,  some folks have to just jump into the situation and drop a stupid here, a stupid there, since they seem to have never made a mistake in their life I guess?   Anyway, glad a few folks have seen this and saved them some hassles.  Hope more see this and don't get ripped off by this fella in PA.  He's sellin' on EBay every week still.  Have a good day.

I don't think the buyer should be bashed or harped on for buying the vehicle. People buy vehicles every day of the week on ebay. As I said before I think the seller should have had to pay for all of his resonable expences. Afterfall.......they misrepresented the vehicle and the buyer came across different states to get a shabby deal. I also think that more pressure should be put on sellers who sell big time items on ebay. We are not talking about $20 items. So I wish ebay would put something together to protect buyers in these cases.

We can really understand how Tom felt about the whole thing. And I am sorry for the man who called others 'stupid." But we just have to take it as a form of his 'own' projection.

As for Prestige Auto Sales - Huntigdon Valley, PA, we bid and won on EBay a $6100.99 2002 LR Discovery. We were about to write a check + Dealer fees + Shipment (Serge, the mgr., only wanted a check). We ran a CarFax and saw Reported accident. I called and inquired, Serge said no accident, or  not at least at the time he bought the Vehicle. Ha, of course, accident happened before he) or who ever bought it. Duh!!) We decided to cancel the deal.

And here is to the man who called others stupid for buying things online. With EBay, Amazon, or any C2B/B2B business, we do business for convenience and more choices (across geographical boundaries). We would order/buy merchandises w/ good faith based on research and what we read and what the seller(s) put on the Web site. But if there are any bad apples w/ fraud and gimmickry, we just have to be careful not to be trapped. That's just life, unless one want to go from store to store or travel to out of state to look for a car (or a piece of merchandise) to buy. Tom,  I'm sorry you got swindled by "Serge" at Prestigue Auto also.  He gave me my deposit back but as soon as I left negative feedback he re charged my credit card.  I was going to take him to small claims court but I live 1000 miles away and it would be a waist of more money.  I figured I could let as many folks know this guy is a bad dealer to do business with. After I got the feedback removed he gave me my money back again.  Ebay is looking into his practices also, don't know if it will go anywhere.   As far as the fella from Texas leaving nasty messages on who's stupid and such....some folks just havet no life and this is the best way they can get that "little man" sindrome out of their system with getting into folks business that has nothing in the world to do with them.  My bet is...he'll leave another rebuttal to this note again.   Tom  we all live and learn!  Have a good day my friend.

I also purchased a car from this loser, I live roughly 3-4 hours away, and had a car similar, loved it and bid on it.  I felt safe in the fact that he had a 72 hour buy back policy that if you didn't like it you were safe, so to me I had enough time to have it thoroughly checked.  Paid my deposit over phone, to my advantage the car was out front and his office was in the back of the building, so this gave me some extra time to go over it.  Every body panel had big gashes in the paint through, and just gave you the idea that it was a drug runner. 

I did the whole Car-Fax, and Auto-Check and the thing was spotless on them as well.  Even the keys were different than what was in the picture.  But the kicker was when I opened the trunk and pulled carpet back and you could see the tire/daylight through the rust hole, and there was no cap on master cylinder for brake system.  I called him, he had me take a test drive, because he didn't think it was that bad, but gut feeling was no, so I did more extensive research and found it was sold 2 months before I got it and that buyer didn't take it either. 

I took cash with me and, told him instead of me giving you my money and you giving it back, I am going to exercise my 72 hour satisfaction warranty, and say no now.  Then he files non-paying bidder on me, however since I paid deposit over phone, I had a paper receipt and could prove that I did pay.  I was upset that I lost $250 on deposit, but I cancelled my card and am glad that I didn't lose more.  Like other victims he relisted that car and a poor guy bought and had shipped to Michigan.  Because of ebays security I wasn't able to warn the guy about what I found, until he left feedback.  He found spliced oil lines, and brake lines, not to mention a junkyard motor in it was well.  Be very careful, this guy is creepy in person as well.

He is asking to have his issue brought to light.  If this means his stupidity comes out, and he decides he doesnt want it pointed out, then perhaps he should have kept quiet, and not written any thing.  There is a old saying "Keep your Mouth shut, and let them think you are a fool, or open  your mouth, and remove all Doubt".

If there's a team rebutt then I'mand pretty much the founder of it and just because someone insults someone doesn't mean they are on my team. That little comment that was shot at the author of this report was pretty jerkish to me. I just think people shouldn't buy cars to begin with on ebay. It seems there are just way too many issues and fraud. Not to mention the horror story in this report. They should have paid for his return trip.

Jim,  I guess it was a bit stupid, but I don't figure, by the sound of your comments you've ever done anything stupid uh????   My dad once said, "Calling someone stupid doesnt make you any smarter!"   Txs for your comments anyway sir.

What would EVER posess someone to simply throw common sense out the window to do something so dumb as to buy a used car sight unseen or spend money like this person did on a car never seen, checked out or test driven? Then they come here and cry how they,ve been screwed by the seller. P.T. Barnum said, "A sucker is born every minute." Thanks for proving that again.

I would have made them pay for everything right then and there.

Buy a Car sight unseen, relying on the word of the seller.
