Complaint Review: Preston Hayden New

  My husband and I hired Preston Hayden New to paint and do contract work on the outside of her home starting Christmas Eve 12/24/16. He was to start first thing in the morning however after several excuses did not show up till after 2 PM . We paid him a deposit of $750 unfortunately in cash and not check and he tried to start working on Power washing the outside however he had to borrow my husband's house since he didn't bring one and then his power washer failed . He wanted to start back work on the 26th and we were OK with that . He texted me and said he couldn't start on the 26th for another excuse saying that they were sick . My husband and I have decided that after these numerous excuses we were going to choose another painter/ contractor , to do the work since we were under a time constraint . We were going to pay him $100 out of our deposit for his time . I did call Preston and let him know of our situation and he better keep his job but I did tell him that we were going to choose another pair he told me he was going to call me back and that's where the call's ceased between us . We have yet seen our money nor heard from Preston since and that was on the 26th of December.
