In 1999, We purchased Carpet and Viynl for our entire home.

First, the vinyl wasn't installed correctly and they did redo the job free, however, there were still problems in the kitchen, not to mention they didn't caulk around the bathtubs.

Second, the carpet, which was made by Aladdin Mills, was guaranteed for 5 years. My husband tracked in wet mud THREE days after installation. (He wasn't used to taking off his shoes at this point) I called Price is Right Carpet and the owner, Dave Gilbert told me to come in and get this special remover. This remover cost me $7.25 and I noticed that that my carpet wasn't the same in that spot.

He came out and said there is too much soap in the carpet and to have someone professional to "extract" the soap. The professional, stated it wasn't soap it was bleach from the chemical used originally to remove the mud.

The owner continued to argue with me and refused to take responsibility and put it off on Aladdin and their representative came out and said I cleaned the carpet to death! I have had two professional carpet cleaning people out here and a company that sells carpet as well as several contractors. They all agreed that the carpet is not only bleached, but, it coming apart from the backing underneath (NOT in any of the areas where I used their cleaner).

The first carpet cleaner came out, he could NOT believe the carpet was just a year old and said he couldn't guarantee another cleaning without the carpet litterally falling apart.

I even asked Dave from Price is Right if he would just replace the living room as it is the worse, I asked him to attend arbitration and paid the fee, he refused. I turned him into the credit bureau and the attorney general and of course, I still have my "crappy carpet"

Who's The Professional?

Although my husband tracked in mud on part of the carpet, the store recommended a specific product which caused the ENTIRE problem of the carpet. Not to mention it was poorly installed. Secondly, MANY professionals who have inspected the carpet in places where it wasn't treated with the stores stain removal, and stated, the carpet is fading, wearing and coming apart from the fibers. Again, these things are happening in places where the carpet was NOT treated with this stain removal Price is Right Carpets sold me!

Carpet mill problem??

#5UPDATE EX-employee responds

I have been a factory rep for textile mills for many yrs and last worked for Aladdin Carpets. There is zero information in this 'report' to imply there is a manufacturing problem. Consumer states her husband tracked in mud. Is that a warranty issue? She bought some cleaner and applied it? Why is that a manufacturing problem? Carpet cleaner stated there is bleach residue? Who would clean carpet with bleach? Bleach does destroy the backing of carpet? Please let us all know how a mfctr of carpet is responsible for any of these consumer actions? I think you need to do a little more research
