Complaint Review: PRICELINE deceptive business practices

PRICELINE deceptive business practices I called a hotel directly to book a room. They suggested that I go online and use Priceline or other in order to get a better rate. They did not mention that if I did so I could then not cancel. Think twice before using this rotten company. norwalk ct

Quality Inn & Suites, Grinnell, IA 

When booking with Priceline there was no noticeable indication of this either until AFTER I booked and they had my money. I NEVER would have used them had I realized this as my life is crazy and I often have to change things due to changing obligations. Both the hotel (Quality Inn and Suites) are deceptive and uncooperative, only out to make a buck off of unsuspecting consumers.

Spoke to them to book my room several months out.  Agent suggested that instead I go online and book through one of the internet third parties to save money, never mentioning that by doing so cancellation and changes would not be honored.

Used Priceline, not realizing the policy until AFTER booking as it was buried in the fine print.  

Imagine how much extra money the hotel is making by sending people to do it this way - Priceline pays them upfront, then if a person needs to cancel they can rent the room again, making double.  The only one hurt is the poor consumer that needs to cancel.

Both companies are deceitful and untrustworthy.  Stay away!
