I am sending my story and I'm sure many others about this company and how they are conning people in our area. These salesmen from this company come to your home and have you sign this "agreement form" stating they will do the work on your home only if your insurance company approves the repairs. There is no written estimate because you assume you will get one once your insurance company agrees to pay for the repairs.

Somehow this company is getting access to the homeowners claim information (how much the insurance is giving the homeowner) and then this company is taking the full amount of the check plus your deductible. When you try to cancel this agreement they threaten you that they will charge you 25% of the repair work (even though they REFUSE to give you a written estmiate)so how can they charge you 25% if you don't have a set amount. I have filed complaints now with the Attorney General and Dept. Of Professional Regulations in regards to this company and I believe according to a recent newspaper article in our general area the State's Attorney is now catching onto this company. This company was also known here in Illinois recently as Pride Roofing and had their license revoked as of 3/2005 (info. researched on nexis.com). This company needs to be stopped permanently! And consumers need to be PAID back for their anguish and time wasted on this pathetic company.I would like to know why the government in many states has not investigated this company or do they change names too quickly...

UPDATE ON PRIDE RENOVATIONS

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL HAD SENT MY COMPLAINT TO THIS COMPANY ONLY FOR THIS COMPANY TO COMPLETELY CHANGE THEIR STORY AROUND TO MAKE THEM LOOK LIKE THE GOOD GUY, FORNUATELY THE ATTY. GENERAL FIGURED THEM OUT AND HAD THEM CANCEL MY CONTRACT,AS A MATTER OF FACT MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS WERE FILED AGAINST THEM AND OTHERS. INSURANCE COMPANIES HAVE NOTIFIED THEIR CLIENTS TO "BEWARE" OF THESE TYPE OF COMPANIES BECAUSE WHEN YOUR WORK NEEDS "WARRANTY REPAIRS" DUE TO THE UNPROFESSIONAL JOB DONE, THE COMPANY IS "NO WHERE" TO BE FOUND AND SO THEN YOU HAVE TO HIRE A PROFESSIONAL AND BE CHARGED AGAIN TO HAVE IT DONE CORRECT. CONTINGENCY OR NOT THESE COMPANIES ARE NO GOOD, THEY ARE CONSIDERED (AS A QUALIFIED PERSON WHO CALL THEM) STORM CHASERS BOUNCING AROUND STATE TO STATE SCAMMING PEOPLE. I AM HAPPY MY CASE HAS BEEN SETTLED AND JUSTICE IS SERVED.

What they are doing is similar to what a lawyer would do before he takes a case. If they are awarded no money then they make no money. The job is contingent upon the insurance paying for the job and the work is to the scope of the insurance approval. They are investing their time and expertise in negotiating the claim with the insurance company and acting in behalf of the homeowner. You obviously know nothing about hail or wind damage to your roof and siding and they are making sure you are given a fair settlement at current market rates and figures for they local pricing. The reason they ask you to sign the paper without a price is because the price has yet to be negotiated. All insurance prices are different. They don't want to do a lot of work and waste a lot of time and get your job approved with the insurance company and you shop around so you can commit insurance fraud and get the job cheaper to keep the difference once they have negotied the claim. It's people like you that people need to be aware of because they work hard for their money and all you are concerned about is getting the job done below what the insurance company is paying you after they have invested much time in getting your house approved.
