I was watching cartoons with my girls, when I received a phone call. Normally I screen my calls, but I was waiting for a call back about a job. Since I wasn't really paying attention, I answered.

It was a man with such a think arib accent that I being a southerner could hard relate what he was saying. It didn't help that he was speaking like the man in the old micromachine commercials (the world record speed talker).

All I really got was that I was 1 of 25 in Clermont to receive coupons for gas in the amount of $200.00 from Shell, Mobile, and I think the BP. I was supiscious when I asked who and he renamed the companies but he didn't say the exact same ones the second time. The first time there were two more.

I didn't really put much thought in it because I like to think people are honest. So...I agreed with whatever he was saying and told him to send the coupons that I would use them.

Then he asked for my bank routing number and I told him that if I was paying with a check for $3.95 upon arrival for the S&H then he didn't need it over the phone. That's when he brought up my security. That was not the way to go with me. I'm on full alert when someone tries to calm my non-existant fears.

He then rattled off My name and address (the phones not in my name,so how did he get it), my bank name (which I didn't give him the full name, but he knew it), and my routing number. That's when I told him I would write the check and give it to the UPS guy when I received the package.

He was agitated and pushy like he wanted to yell at me. After arguing with him he got his supervisor who then tried to trick me into giving him my account number that they still needed to access my account. I hung up.

What really gets me is that they acted so concerned with my security and they were a reputable company but they wouldn't allow me to check them out first.

They went on about how safe it was to give them the info they wanted and that if they were trying to rip me off they wouldn't have been on the phone with me so long because they would have already called "50 others" (suckers is what he meant by his tone)and they wouldn't give me a web address, a phone number, a confirmation number, and blah blah blah.

None of which have I found to be true.

I hope no one else gets coned by these guys.

All the info I could find on them was on ripoffreport.com, but the phone number came off my caller ID.
