Deceptive practices galore at PRIME Inc!
If you lease from Prime Inc. you might slowly go broke like I did. Here are some of my problems with Prime.
1) If you turn in your truck, they will find things wrong with it that in (9 weeks time, the length of time I had their truck) could not possibly be caused by me. I am positive that the person that had my truck before me was charged for those same repairs. The repairs were not done before I took possession, the truck was sent out with me and now I am being charged for them too. And the next guy/gal will be charged after me. What a racket.
2) I was required to have a sleep study (how convenient that they just happen to have that available on-site) and that test was to cost $150.00. I took the study; I was NOT diagnosed with sleep apnea. But, 6 months later I receive a bill for $1,900.00 for the C-PAP machine (that I did not receive because it was not prescribed), for 6 months monitoring of the C-PAP machine (how do you charge for monitoring for a machine that I do not have?) and additional charges for the sleep study.
3) I was told and saw their posters that say they "guarantee" .95 cents a mile. Sounds pretty up-front right? No, not at PRIME. If you take a load for less than 95 cents, they will pay you the difference... but they will deduct that amount from your next weeks pay. You will have to pay it back. The problem is you get so many loads from them that are under .95 cents a mile that you will find yourself in the hole. Im not sure about you, but working 80+ hours a week, 7 days a week, months without getting home is worth more than zero or close to it. They are in control and you dont have a chance of making a living... only being their indentured servant.
4) I feel they do not pay the 72% of line haul as they promise. I feel that they do not pay the fuel surcharge as promised. I feel they are in the business of making money off of their employees.
This is my opinion and personal experience. I was a woman flatbed driver for them, one that was smart enough to get out quick, not smart enough to never have gone there.
My husband also leased a truck from them at the same time I did with the same outcome. We have the contact information for close to 10 other drivers that want to get together and sue them (you know whats).

still don't make any money? Take a good piece of advice from me:
Don't get caught by DOT or just stop lying!
No, I'm not a driver for Prime but thinkin' about it.

The following to whom it might concern.

I can't believe all that sh*t getting poured out over these companies here for peoples personal fail. If I had taken any of these reports serious i wouldn't be driving a truck at all.
Are you people actually reflecting to your self what you might have done wrong? I mean, that's very important because if you don't, you keep on making the same mistakes over and over again. Try that for a change instead of beeing an ahole and blame everybody else for your own dissapointments with live. I am not saying these companies are angels. Hell they are not. But they wouldn't be in business anymore if they really do, what you accuse them of.

Just my 2c

@ Primeisawesome,

I am currently in the process of starting a brand new career; after recently graduating from college.

On a very personal note, I have found that most jobs want more work than they are willing to compensate you for.

Unlike the trucking industry though... I have a sleuth of relatives that have made great livings; and many more who are still rocking & rolling.

As far as I am concerned, a personal story is just that.... personal.

There are ups & downs to each and every job; but to blame misfortune and failure on a trucking company for not succeeding, is really not too kosher.

After working in a family business for many years myself... I will never be able to stress this point enough...

ALWAYS READ THE FINE PRINT!

I've been driving for Prime for four years. I don't doubt you didnt make money, no point in lyin if your happy. However, if you didnt make money. Not Primes fault!!! Not once has anyone lied to me, not once.  When they hired you they said you should be a company driver to make sure you understand how to make money before you lease. But, I'm guessing you went streight to lease? You really need to master every area of your job. Not just be good, but master everything. The day you recieved your truck, they gave you a form walked around truck, show damages and such, likely you have a camera phone, take pics prove your case!! btw all companies use their employees to make them profit, you see thats how all companies in biz stay in biz. So its a must to treat the employee and drivers well, or they will quit. Thats not profitable. I didnt take a sleep study. However, Im in very good shape. I posed no risk to fall asleep at wheel and run folks over. I get paid what they told me I would, not really I make more then I figured I would. When mistake are made charged for something I shouldnt be charged for I calmly make a phone call and its fixed. Mistakes happen,,computers.. I'm sorry things didnt workout for you and your husband, truly I am. However I know Prime did what they could do to help you. First thought I had was its way more profitable to pile up in same truck yall doubled your risk. Same truck double the miles and only one truck note. You bring 10 unhappy drivers to court, Prime has thousands of happy drivers. Doesnt matter how long someone does there job, doesnt mean they mastered it. Master your trade!!
