If the name of that company is actually the way you spelled it, it is a scam

There are lots of red flags in your post. The "company" you are working with is most likely a scam if you post is accurate. There is no way a company would take on a name with 3 misspelled words. I should just say it is unlikeky, but possible. That is the very first flag.
The second red flag is that the debt is 15 years old. By paying anything toward it (if it is a legitimate company) you have most likely reactivated the debt.
Google credit reporting information and how it affects your FICO scores. Look for a legitimate website with FICO in the name. Go to the forums and read up on the right way to handle legitimate collectors and how to spot a scammer. There are tons of scams in the debt collection business so learn to look out for them.
Go to your bank and put a stop payment on the drafting from your account. They will continue to draft out of your account until you stop it. That's what scammers do.
