Prime Time Gourmet Foods They scammed me big time! They sold me meat, picked up the meat promising a refund, and still not refunded my money. Greensboro North Carolina
A salesman from Prime Time Gourmet Foods came to my door on November 22nd, 2006 saying that he came by to deliver some meat to my neighbors, the Schneider's (we are new to the neighborhood and don't know anyone), but they were not home so he would be willing to sell me the meat that was intended for them at a great price. He said that this would save him a trip back to Greensboro to take the meat back to his company.
During the course of his presentation I asked him repeatedly if I decided that I did not want the meat if it I could get my money back, and he
stated absolutely. He said that he would come pick it up himself and even showed me their company's money back guarantee.
The guarantee states that If you do not want the goods, you may cancel this transaction within three business days from the above date (filled in by the salesman) and that refunds will take 60-90 business days. I stupidly wrote this guy a check for $368 dollars for several boxes of meat and chicken.
When putting the meat in the freezer, I noticed that it didn't look like meat that I would normally buy at the store, not to mention in doing a little bit of research I found that it was not of high quality according to the USDA rating system.
So within an hour of the salesman leaving my home, I called the numbers on the brochure and told the company President, Todd Walter, and also the Vice President, James Young, that I did not wish to keep this meat to please have the salesman hold my check and return it to me when he came to pick up the meat. They assured me that the meat would be picked up and that I would get my money back not to worry.
I also called the bank and tried to have my check stopped but unfortunately, the salesman went straight from my house to the bank and cashed my check.
After numerous phone calls, the company's Vice President did come to my house and pick up the meat about 2 weeks after I had purchased it. He signed a statement at that time saying that the meat was in resalable condition. I asked him to bring my money with him when he picked up the meat, but when he arrived he said that he didn't have the money with him then but would drop it by my house the next week.
Over the past three months I have spoken to the President and Vice President of Prime Time Gourmet Foods, repeatedly, in an effort to get my money back. They have concocted numerous excuses including telling me that they had kidney stones, that they are waiting to see the salesman who sold me the meat, that the salesman who sold me the meat was fired, that they are waiting to re-sell the meat themselves, that they gave the meat back to the salesman (who they supposedly fired), that they don't have anything to do with the salesman and are in no way responsible for his employment, etc.
It was a different story every time you talked to them, and they were not easy to get in touch with let me assure you. They change their phone numbers routinely and won't return phone calls even after numerous phone messages are left.
Finally, last week, the company's Vice President told me that the only way I was going to get my money back was to have the salesman who sold me the meat arrested. During this phone conversation, the Vice President of the company could not answer my questions so he just hung up on me right in the middle of our phone conversation.
All I want is my money back. I have no product and no money and am feeling like I have been scammed.
