Primerica ripoff California
My husband and I met with a Primercia rep. after my husbands cousin and his wife begged us to. When I told her no, she said just meet with him so she could see his presentation and get practice. During the meeting I had several questions regarding rolling over our 401K and how to do so without penalties. The rep. did not give me correct information. He also stumbled through the many other questions I had about all of his other products. I must admit I did find myself interested in looking at the Life insurance and savings account they had. However, when I told the rep. that I was not interested in having him do a financial plan, and I was absolutely not interested in going to one of their meetings, he told me he could not sell me anything. I was floored! I couldn't believe he did this whole presentation, trying to sell me on products.......and then wouldn't let me buy them. And then had the nerve to ask for referrals from me. What a joke.
Also, another writer had written about Primerica's mortgage loans. I did see a program that my father in law was offered that was as others have explained on this website. They offered him to refinance at a higher rate, but then the money he took out of the equity would be invested and in the end he would actually be getting a higher rate of return from the investments. But when I looked at this, it actually made more since to keep is low rate, get an equity line at even a lower rate and invest that money if he wanted to. It's true, from what I saw, the program had tricky wording to confuse consumers. Which makes me think there life insurance and other products are sold the same way.
I wont even go into all of the time his cousin and wife are spending away from their 3 kids, one just a newborn. It is very sad. I trully hope this does work for them. But I seriously have my doubts!
