Complaint Review: Primerica

I was recently called from a local Primerica office. I hadn't ever heard of this company before. First, they said they had seen my resume and wanted to meet with me. They said they were in the financial business which pleased me. I attend college and take many financial classes and was interested in the financial field. But I am so glad that I came to this website first before making a huge mistake. This person then asked me where I worked. I told her that I was recently laid off, I think this excited her. Then she got into the discussion where I would have to go through three interviews to see if I was the right person. I told her that it would be great since I am going for my series 7 license. But the weird thing was is that I had to explain to her what it was. I was like, "It is a licenses that certifies you to be a securities broker in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. She was like "OH...We sell mutual funds". I doubt any of them are no-load mutual funds. I found the conversation very ackward and usually when I first talk to a potential employer, there isn't dead silence during any part of the interview. Thanks people for keeping me informed. And thanks to them for getting a laidoff worker his hopes up.

But I am just curious...How do these people make a living? How come there are so many vice-presidents,how much do they make, and how long does it take to become one? It sounds like they just have to work there a little while and they become one. I cannot have a job where I screw anyone over especially my friends and family.
