I was shopping at Target with my son and this woman approached me when I was looking at bras. She asked me if I was looking for a job and I said not really. She asked if I would like to work just part time, and I told her it would have to be really part-time and pointed to my son.

She invited me to a meeting the next day and I told her I didn't know if I would be busy. She gave me the address and her number and I did give her my number because she was very polite and I felt rude refusing her. This all happened today and the meeting is tomorrow so she hasn't called yet.

I'm just going to tell her I'm not interested in working and also I read up about the company on the Internet. The whole thing was very weird though. She was reluctant to tell me what the company was. All she said was it is a financial services company, she didn't even give me the name Primerica.

I drove to the address she gave me afterwards because I was thinking it was some kind of born-again church group or a pyramid scheme. Or she was hitting on me. I'm glad I thought about driving by the place and getting the company's name. I was able to find this site and confirm my suspicions about all of this.

What do you mean, "NOT allowed to recruit out of the office?" I was a PFS Croney and that's what we were told to do.

First in response to Cassie. Great job for sniffing out a scam. Primerica Agents mascarade as financial advisors on a mission to wipe out debt in the middle income household. In reality all there doing is giving false hope to thousands of people, while they attempt to chip away at what they call the warm market. In other words Cassie, this woman attempted to recruit you for three basic reasons. To sell you insurance, sell your warm market (friends and family)insurance and to override your production as long as you can stick it out. It's a viscious cycle that many are not made aware of until it's too late. I fell into this cycle and I've lost the respect of many friends and family because of Primerica. Primerica offers other products, like a refinance and some investments, but the business makes the biggest profit. Theyb thrive off insurance sales.

Next, the issue of recruiting outside of the office. What are you talking about. That's all they preached, RECRUIT RECRUIT RECRUIT. 24/7. They basically told us to go turnover the nearest stone and if something crawls out, recruit it. There was one couple in my office that recruited at bars over and over again, places like Hooters and the like. They didn't care where the next recruit came from. We're in the contract or on a site does it say a rep can't recruit outside the office. I'd really like to see this.

Trust me. To all reading this. Primerica agents are taught to recruit anyone and everyone. If you've got a pulse, trust me you're fair game. They will harass you until you tell them to stop. Even then, you might get a call from another agent trying to recruit you. Besides the do no call list, Primerica has no way to ensure you're not called again. So get on the Do Not Call List. Many agents do not check it. IF you're on it and they call you, they're in violation and should be reported. If you're approached by a Primerica Rep, they probably won't mention Primerica, but they will mention Citigroup, which is their parent company. Most people know Citigroup because it is the leading financial services company in the world. They try and reel you in by mentioning Citigroup and then you later find out it's Primerica. If you suspect Primerica, RUN AWAY, for if you don't you'll most likely regret it.

I'll be posting factual comments periodically. Information that can help the consumer combat the recruiting ploy.

Hopefully, someday, somebody will pull the rug out from underneath Primerica which will cause it to rethink it's business practices. For now, stay away.

Rebutting "Detective John" of Washington, DC - Is it in writing that Primerica agents aren't allowed to go out and recruit outside the office? That lie doesn't go far as posters will make you well aware of.

Detective John (aka John of City, Georgia aka
Financially of City, Georgia).

Is it in writing that Primerica agents aren't allowed to go out and recruit outside the office?
That lie doesn't go far as posters will make you well aware of.

When you say:

"Everything you read on here are mostly based on what people think they know, but really have no clue what they are talking about."

What you say on here "Detective John" shows your own ignorance. You're conveniently ignoring the opening paragraph to this website which I'll quote for the visitors:

"Victim of a consumer Rip-off? Want justice? Rip-off Report is a worldwide consumer reporting Website & Publication, by consumers, for consumers, to file & document complaints about companies or individuals who ripoff consumers."

So how are you helping the victims "Detective John?" Are your Primerica meetings so boring that
you have to troll over here and do shilling for
Primerica?

Primerica agents are not allowed to recruit outside of their offices

Well Cassie, you were exposed to something we like to called "prospecting." Every small business owners does this, either directly by speaking to people or indirectly by posting "now hiring" signs.

Primerica agents do not recruit people outside their offices because it's prohibited. They can go prospecting by collecting names and numbers or resumes like other companies do.

Anyway, you can believe what you want. It doesn't hurt for you to go take a look at the company and hear both sides of the story. Would you agree most people are ignorant? Everything you read on here are mostly based on what people think they know, but really have no clue what they are talking about.
