After realizing I had made a mistake on a life insurance policy, sold to me, by David Bornheimer, of Primerica Financial Services, I wrote an email notifing of my wishes to cancel the policy. I did this three days after the signing of the agreement. He then continued to sell me while telling me the policy was on hold. After a second notification, to him, that I do not want the policy I noticed a widthdrawl on my checking account in the amount of the montly payment of the policy.

His knowledge of the primerica policy and my policy was very low He attempted to switch me from a policy that was better. His professionalism was poor and I need find a way to have this policy was cancelled.

Re: Buying insurance...--call "better biz bureau",

#2Consumer Suggestion

Tue, July 27, 2004

To Insurance Buyer,
There are regulatory agencies that oversee insurance. I wish I could be more specific for your situation, but I don't have ANY insurance, so I need not worry myself! (Of course, I do worry for my HEALTH! I would like a JOB with health insurance, at least! I too was "contacted' by Primerica re-"job"!). In any case, I do know that there are "insurance boards", "regulators", in all states----I know this as my Mom works in (legit!) insurance and they always MUST COMPLY! You might get resolution by "calling around"---ie--call "better biz bureau", your state rep, state's attorneys office, local gov, etc---and they can probably direct you to the insurance regulators for your area---whom I'm sure will help you out! (from what my Mom says, these folks are WORSE THAN THE IRS!). SIC EM!
Best of luck to you!

Oh-PS-from what little I know of legalese----one DOES HAVE 3 days to void a contract----seems like you're in bounds of this- make some calls, it is really worth it!
