This place completely took advantage of my youth and money when i was 18. I had just received word that i would be shipped off to bootcamp in about 5 months and I wanted to get in shape. I stopped by this gym having heard the offer about month to month payments. Being that i didn't want to get tied down to this town that offer appealed to me. When i went in the only thing this Cars salesman was the car. He kept asking me if i thought i was fat or what part of my body would i change. Being a normally fit person i found this offensive, i esplained to him that since i no longer had access to my school gym i was looking for another place to work out until i left for boot camp.

To that he said that i would love this gym because i could freeze my membership for up to 6 months, and i could transfer it to a local gym whereever i go. He also said that i could cancel my membership at anytime if i wasnt going to use the membership. Well that was just a bunch of bull. Apparently freezing your account doesnt exist in the contract and you can only do so if you are physically impaired. And you still pay every month, the frozen months just get added onto the end of your contract. He never said i was signing a contract, just a monthly agreement. I didn't know it was for three years until it was too late.

If you want to transfer your membership it will cost you 25 dollars for each new gym. In the past year i've lived in 3 different states. Then there is an annual fee that was unspoken of until i found it on my bank statement this morning for 19.98. Oh and by the way you cant cancel your membership outside of the first three days without paying 80% of what you'd pay for 3 years.

The other thing that really pisses me off is that i've now moved to an area where i live 28 miles away from the gym, which with this traffic is a 45 minute drive if i want to work out. They will cancel your membership if you live 30 miles away from this new gym, no exceptions.

I know i made a youthful mistake, but it's costing me more than the 1200 on the paper i signed fresh out of high school.
