I started working for PPT this past Black Friday (@4am!) and was suprised at the incompetence of the Location Manager, Jamie Coleman. She had no tools to do installations, no computer repair equipment whatsoever, not even a screwdriver. Hell, the switch for the computer that were there wasn't set up until I arrived. Almost forgot the most important part....I WAS THE ONLY MALE! no other techs were there BUT me! 3 women, 1 man.

That saturday (11/29/2008) she secured an appointment to install a flat panel screen. She asked me could i do it and I confirmed that I can install it on the wall. SHe didn't tell me it was a 50+ in screen with a tilt mount going in to a renter's home! On top of that, she asks me if I have tools. I confirmed that I have tools, but i have to call them up, which I did. Once again, she tells me at the last minute that she rescheduled the install for Sunday. Unfortunately (for her), I had no baby-sitter for my 5-month old daughter. To which, i called her the next morning and informed her 5 hours in advance that i wasn't available. So she says I'm a no-show. I have the phone and text messages to prove it. SHe even went so far as to say that I HAVE to come in to work. With no baby-sitter?

I have a long conversation with my family and decided NOT to bring my personal tools. Because if something happens, are they going to re-imburse me for the damages? No back brace, so if I lift up the TV, i risk injuring myself and I hadn't even enrolled in the company health plan. Wants me to do installation work that involves electrical knowledge and carpentry, which i have no clue how to do! Oh, AND i have to do the installation with a woman who isn't even qualified to do such work, let alone be able to assist? One word: LAWSUIT

I informed the HR Manager (Curdja Jackson) of the situation, obviously, she passed the buck BACK to Jamie Coleman. To which, she ended my time there witht he following: "Since we have no technical work for you to do, I'mma need to take you ID badge and escort you from the building." Because I won't risk my back and body to install someone $1200 flat-screen TV? Give me a break. But this is the same woman who takes a smoke break every hour to 2 hours but only wants everyone else to an hour lunch, no breaks. But I can't go on break without someone manning the front desk. So she take an almost 2 hour lunch at the end of the day to buy stuff for 1 install that we're not even prepared to do? What kind of buisness is this? They have space monkey at the helm!
